A 20mm or 25mm weapon has a massive muzzle flash and muzzle blast.

Believe me, you'd be noticed if you started popping rounds off with this thing...

The best way to deal with an advancing force is to use the radio to call in artillery to break up the enemy's mass.

BEST way, no doubt. Sometimes not practical/available, though.

Then, you better hope my obstacles (minefields, wire, and AT trenches) are going to slow them down. And you better start popping smoke ASAP.

Nah. Engineers got here too late, as usual. Call for CAS.

You forgot your smiley to mark your position. If you get shwacked, don't go cryin' about it.

Always workin' the money angle. You are SUCH an officer, man.

Not sure if you saw what was here before I edited it out or not, but if you did, disregard. (Just so you know, it wasn't rude, either.)

The NCMs have their way of doing things and my job is to give you the resources for doing those things ... and I pray I never find out how you do those things.

NOTHIN' like that, sir. More like a 'professional exchange' to help me on something I want to do at work re: the Balkans. I know you were there...but I thought it over. Might be a bit dodgy, so I 86'ed it.

You may be a woman-stealin', cigar-smokin' crusty ole grunt...but you say some funny stuff sometimes, too.

Come down to Tampa. I'll buy you a beer, and we can play a round of a li'l game I like to call "Pinch the Waitress" (International Tournament Rules).

    Mostly true, I must admit.

But I edited a friend's book ("Moonscape", should be out next year) about his time as a company commander in the 101st in Vietnam, and he had a chapter called, "What an Airstrike Means to Me". He described a desperate fight in which he asked for and got a napalm strike so close to his position that it singed the hair off the backs of his hands while he covered up on one side of a dike; NVA on the other. Single Air Force A-7 with a highly-motivated and skilled pilot dropped EXACTLY perfect two canisters...and destroyed his enemy utterly. They held the ankles of the First Sergeant while he crawled up to the road on top of the dike, in case he was hit while up taking a look. He called back, "Sir, you gotta see this for yourself", and stood up (which alarmed everybody on the 'right' side of the dike). They were all dead or dying.

Sometimes, we're worth what you pay to have an Air Force.

    One of my favorite games.

Just so long as you don't make me watch a Bucaneers game.
