Took the Cz.52 shooting for the first time today. I picked up some cheap Romanian brass-cased 7.62x25 ammo from Sportsmans Guide about a week ago, but only got a chance to shoot today. The pistol itself has some of the worst ergonomics I've ever encountered. It's front-heavy, poorly shaped, weighs a lot, and fits in the palm awkwardly. During firing the not-so-tightly-held grips tend to pinch your hands painfully. That being said, the rest of the process was actually pretty enjoyable. It had pretty low recoil considering the round fired, and was actually relatively accurate. The trigger pull was rather crisp. The sights were crude but definitely functional. I had one jam in which the action failed to go into full battery, and several times the slide failed to stay open upon firing the last round (this was due to a worn magazine).

All in all, I would rate this as a satisfactory pistol- barely. It seemed like shooter comfort was not high on the list when designing this weapon, but other than the atrocious ergonomics the Cz.52 is a functional and relatively fun pistol to shoot.

I couldn't get sound either. What a peculiar way for a right handed user to fire the assault rifle. It was in his left shoulder!

Occasionally necessary for those unfortunate enough to be 'afflicted' with a 'cross-master eye'.

I'm a bit of like a kid in a candy store.

I bought an XD .40 sub compact. Instant buyer's remorse.
Payday's right around the corner and I was thinking of getting a Springfield 1911 Mil-Spec, but now HK is crawling around in my head. Whatever should I do?

HK all the way. I've got a strong bias for them, but for good reason. They're expensive, but you'll see where the extra money went. The never jam, they're accurate, and have great aesthetics and user-friendliness. Go with a P2000. Great for everything you can think of, including CCW.

What can I say? If FN, S&W, Glock, etc. made the best guns, I would do the same for them.

Either today or tomorrow I'm finally going to shoot my XD sub compact. I went to Sportsman's Warehouse and held the USP Compact and full size and the P2000 and thought "Soon my precious, soon" in my best Shmiegal voice. I think the 45 Tactical needs a silencer because of the barrel protrusion, that's how they get you... with the accessories - it's a conspiracy I tells ya.

The Tactical's only real reason for having a threaded barrel is for mounting a supressor, yes. Actually, they're pretty easy to get legally. Pay the $200 tax stamp and then pay for the suppressor, and you're ready to go.

I went to the range over the weekend, but didn't even make it to the parking log. There were cars everywhere, parked on the side of street and everything. Must've been some sort of competition, or since it stopped raining for a day people got the itch same as me. I have all this ammo and nothing to shoot at... Does that make me sound like a gun totting looney?
