Personally I doubt there will be any new legislation passed over this virginia tech thing.
1. We are never (at least during my reasonable lifetime) going to see handguns outlawed in the US.
2. The incident took place in a gun free area There is a strong arguement that if just one of the adults in the building had a handgun to fireback at the beginning there would have been perhaps 2 fatalities.

Thanks Shamus, and she shoots well with the eotech at 50 meters.

The only problem was that the previous owner had played with the trigger or it is a match trigger that is to light, as it started doubling and we don't want or like that so I'll be having a closer look at that problem, may even end up replacing the trigger. All in all I'm happy with it though.

What type of ammo were you using? And I would suspect a little amateur gunsmithing...a good match trigger shoudn't do that.

Factory loaded Remington 55gr ball, I have never got into the reloading game, had a go, and found the prospect of varying my ammo performance on how I reloaded boring.
I have an FR8 that I have put in a ATI scout type stock and mounted a Steiner scope that will shoot hole in hole at 100m all day with any ammo, be it surplus or factory. For the uninitiated when they see me get it out at the range, they have a big sympathetic sh!t eating grins on their faces, then I fire three rounds of S&B ammo off in short order and pull the target back and watch their faces drop when they see the target, and ask them something dumb, like if they think I should start looking for a better ammo or if I should get a better scope or something. Then it's my turn to have some fun, and start showing to much interest in their rifle and ammo, scope and it's performance. Here's a few pic's for the hell of it.

Random thought-
Who else thinks that AR's with 50 accessories mounted on them (effectively doubling the weight of the gun) look ridiculous?

i do, not only ar but any rifle, imo rifle should have as fewer accesories as posible, plus it will make a great trofy (with all bells and wistles), to your enemy , when you are killed.
it still looks dumb as hell at the range, looks like compensation for lack of something..

Well, I'm sure you've seen some pretty mind-boggling configurations. Hell, I shot "souped-up" ARs and the zillion accessories tend to hamper rather than improve your shooting.

Several different things.
Souped up AR's? Not me. While they might look cool, I've never had the need for such (but I'm not infantry).
I wonder about the vertical grip. I used palm rests when I shot the 40X and the magazine on the M-14 was very much like that. But there is a difference, to me, between a palm rest and a vertical grip. One relaxes in the hand, the other involves muscle contraction. Further, doesn't that vertical grip interfere with using a combat sling, another kind of resting action? Of course, it may not matter since so many these days don't use combat slings.
Here, too, the bill, this current power structure, this last incident doesn't thrill me that much and I'm buying, calculating as I can. There's a sort of bitter irony to all this.
We had a mourning ceremony last week here. When it was being conducted, I was out doing other business and one of the items of business being conducted was ...........................
........................ buying the Uzi.

Yep. I have a vertical grip on one of my ARs, and it really doesn't help that much in any stance.

Touche! Actually, the timing just worked out that way. I had seen it on the fire sale list the day before, tossed the decision back and forth during the night, doing research, and decided to buy it the next day .......... before anyone else came to the same conclusion. Still, it is rather ironic.

This is probably a better place for this video. This is me shooting an MP5 in a killhouse.
