my favorite gun is the Colt M1911A1 simple, powerful, and reliable if a pistol has been produced for over about 90 years that tells you something. My favorite assault rifle is the M14 which is more powerful than the M16 and M4 as well as more reliable. My favorite shotgun is the Remington 870.

    my favorite gun..

my Remington 700 BDL in 375 Remington Ultra Mag.. (currently getting a new 28" barrel at PacNor in Brookings Oregon) It's my go anywhere do anything hunting rifle, and since hunting is probably my favorite thing to do, a good hunting rifle is right up there in what makes it my favorite..

I've used it on game as small as a cotton tail rabbit (head shot), numerous deer and elk, and it's capable of being used in Africa on the largest Elephants you can find...

here it is, after being used a couple years ago, to take down a nice 4x4 black tail buck

Nice rifle, with that 28" barrel you'll definitely be able to reach out and touch thing's.

The old British Army issue 7.62mm Self Loading Rifle. (left with its iron sights)

    Great memories of that rifle.

Not going Necro - But have we got any users that have shot a number of the Remington 700 Series?

Have a few people down here that only have the one they own - but none that have had tried a bunch. Looking to buy one before winter sets in. (Edit forgot) At present looking at the 700P)

Only Requirements are synthetic stock, accurate to 700 yrds, Good coating & fixture for high powered scope.

As usual, Legal in Australia suggestions only...

I used to have a 700 ADL in 7mm Mag, my main Alaska gun. Good for any game in North America. Flat shooter and plenty of punch.

Sold it in a fit of insanity.

    I love 700's.

Im looking for something chambered for .308 mainly for availability of cartridges. Plain/Scrubland shooting over paddocks about 1km, hence accurate to 700 yrds. At present it looks as though I am limited to the 24" barrel though ideally I would like the 26". Though if the grouping difference is very minor it does not matter that much... but varmit always helps.

Unless anyone has a sako in .308 or other recommendation that compares price wise but i'll take it if it was your Alaska gun that the 700 is damned good enough.

You might look at the 700SPS Varmint. It has a 26" barrel in .308.

It's a sub-moa rifle out of the box with match ammo, and with a little tweaking it shouldn't be difficult to get .5 moa.

For a side arm, the Colt 1911 45cal.

But for range I would love to have this one.

Haha, that 20 mm is a bit unnecessary. I guess that's what makes it so cool. The real life Illudium Q-36 Explosive Space Modulator

H&KG36K. Silky Smooth! I wish the M16 were as nice.
