my favorite gun (the one i curently have) is chinise 1953 sks. This is the first gun i bought in US. Of corurse not as good as slr 95 i used to have, but i had to sell it when moved to nyc. the sks is acurate enough to hit a b ball at 200 yards(good enough for most situations), very reliable, i've heavyly modified it , muzzle break(that makes it sound louder than without one), t4 stock, detachable mag. very comfortable to shot, low recoil, and mine for some reason has awesome finish, no tool marks.(chinise sks's almost allways look cheap made). If situation arises(hope not) sks will be the one i'd choose over others guns I have.

I'd take an AK for sure. May not be the finest, or most flashy..........but I could count on it. When everyone else was cleaning their pretty little MP's or reloading their M-1's I'd be there with my dirty, rusted ouut AK that still wouldn't jam. AK.........the weapon designed so that a 12 year old could buy it, and use it........................after he played in the sandbox.

that's true, many soldgiers in afgan had to return fire, to find out later that it was 10-12 years old kids that they killed, and lost their friends to. those kids definatly knew how to use ak.

    I'd choose SVD or AK-101 or AK-102

    What is one's favourite gun?

The Colonel has answered it in another thread.

This is my rifle and this is my gun!

    The 280mm M65 was a gun, NOT a howitzer.

*Atomic Annie* was the nickname given to Gun #9 (currently preserved at Fort Sill, Oklahoma).

Just to mention that I have one again!

Interestingly in Northern Africa, guys selling AK's always claimed they were either Russian or Bulgarian made.

It's a while since a circus with lions and tigers has visited Tassie. But when one does it will be good to know you're around if one of them (or maybe a rogue elephant) escapes!

My personal favorite is a 12G Beretta M426 DB shotgun which I have had for forty years.

    Cheers

    EDIT

Whoops, I was thinking of a Holland and Holland double rifle, but as its an O/U Sporting Deluxe it's a shotgun! Forget the lions, tigers and rogue elephants!

There is no more prestigious maker in the world of shotguns - but an 'over and under'? Oh dear!
