I'm a big fan of Lawsons poetry, btw. Check it out if you like nationalistic stirring stuff. (some of it is quite racist, but he did live around the turn of the century).

Also, this is one of my favourite poems ever. It's about ANZAC Day, probably the one national holiday that Aussies actually respect. I mean, it gets more and more of us out of our beds at 5 in the morning for the dawn service each year, and reaffirms our commitment to the monarchy and the flag for another year.

I swear reading it still brings a tear to my eye.

Now, lets look at the Militia. . .what is “The Militia”? It is not the National Guard, which is a creation of the early 20th Century and did not exist in any form in the late 18th Century. Federal law defines it thus:

"The militia of the United States consists of all able-bodied males at least 17 years of age..." -Title 10, Section 331 of the U.S. Code.

The Founding Fathers knew full well what the Militia is:

Keep in mind by "Christian Principles" he was not talking about being against abortian and allowing the ten commandments in Alabama.

He was not a Christian per se, he believe that there was a God but no triniaty(of course Father, Son, Holy Spirit). He also believed that God created everything but he then either abanded it or choose not to interfer. He believed that man only through reason and the rational persuit of science could man further their lives.
