Who...and I mean WHO THE F--K thinks that Trump is even capable of shutting up and/or simply doing his job???

It is nearly the year 2020: Seriously, what kind of head-up-their-ass medically-brain dead MORON thinks that that's even remotely possible in this reality or any other!?

I...I wish somebody could explain that to me. Anybody. Please. I'm begging you.

He can no more shut up or do his job than pigs can fly and horses can talk.

He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

It's funny i've heard this just shut up thing way back in his first year.

If a trump supporter thinks its a good idea now then its high time he did.

Does he want another term ? another four years to be national punching bag or will he just cash in his chips and go.

If he wants to get a second term he's going to have to do what it takes.

He's a lame duck by Dec any way.

If you knew anything about Trump going back to the later 70s when he started out you would know of his ego from then. You would have known about his everyday constant lies as the man may have never told the truth in his life. You would also know that he can't shut his mouth ever. Partly because he thinks he knows more and partly because he thinks he is untouchable by rules and laws. He has always skirted the laws in his casino days and gotten away with it. All that has created in his mind is that he is essentially above the law. So even though he is now President of a country he no doubt still sees himself as the ultimate all seeing CEO of a private corporation and consequently can rule by fiat as he does in Trump Towers with the law be damned. In his mind he is Emperor and I'll lay odds that is exactly what he thinks behind closed doors.

So going forth from here people will try and people will fail to ultimately succeed in getting him to shut up. His mouth is his drug. He simply must open it being addicted as he is. He can't kick it and like any drug it will be to his detriment.

That's Narcissistic Personality Disorder in a nutshell. He can no more keep his mouth shut than he can survive without oxygen. It's Impossible, period.

His lawyers single most horrifying nightmare is the thought of Donald Trump in a courtroom, on the stand, being questioned under oath by a prosecutor.

what has frankly terrified me about the state of American governance is that we're seeing all of this with a President whom is not known for his competency and his ability to keep to himself.

for instance, the whistleblower's memo was vastly strengthened because it could be verified against Trump's declassification of the (edited) transcript. Trump released it because he genuinely did not see himself as doing anything wrong.

but his staff knew...that's why they tried to bury it behind a codename-network.

Trump by himself is bad enough. however, he's shown a stunning number of vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our system that will last beyond the time of his administration.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

              Can Mickey Mouse spell T-R-E-A-S-O-N?

It seems anyone and everyone who is part of this is now guilty of treason and should be arrested. Well TH will give us cover as he looks to have the biggest mouth towards Papa's boy Donald...insert smiley

Of course, he is just retweeting what the Iman Robert Jeffress said earlier. Damn I made that mistake again. It is Reverend, or is it the Evangelical Reverend, or is it the Ayatollah, or is it Iman? It can be so confusing since they all seem to share the same side of the coin it is hard to tell them apart.

Indeed...that man has done more damage to the security of the United States that can possibly be tallied in tangible terms. Simply amazing how little his supporters care about that. All they can do is blather on about Obama, Clinton, Biden and the rest of their go-to bogeymen.

Treason? Civil War? Nonsense, who would think of such....oh, right. Trump and the kool-aid drinking Right.

Trump suggests intel chairman should be arrested for 'treason'

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - U.S. President Donald Trump on Monday escalated his attacks against the lawmaker leading the impeachment inquiry against him, suggesting that Representative Adam Schiff be arrested for “treason.”

The comment is likely to inflame criticism of Trump’s handling of the scandal engulfing his presidency, stemming from a telephone call in which Trump asked Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskiy to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden and his son.

The telephone call was included in an intelligence officer’s whistleblower complaint that raised concerns about whether the president sought to leverage U.S. aid to Ukraine for a political favor.

“Rep. Adam Schiff illegally made up a FAKE & terrible statement, pretended it to be mine as the most important part of my call to the Ukrainian President, and read it aloud to Congress and the American people. It bore NO relationship to what I said on the call. Arrest for Treason?” Trump wrote in a post on Twitter.

Trump appeared to reference statements made by Schiff during a hearing held by the House Intelligence Committee, of which Schiff is the chairman. Schiff said his remarks parodied Trump’s comments on the call with Zelenskiy.

The Republican president has increasingly lashed out at political opponents since House Democrats announced on Tuesday they would pursue an impeachment inquiry.

He likened the whistleblower and White House officials who gave information to the whistleblower to spies and suggested they committed treason.

The inspector general for the director of national intelligence deemed the whistleblower complaint credible and urgent, while the top U.S. intelligence officer said the whistleblower acted in good faith.

Republican lawmaker denounces Trump’s tweet predicting ‘civil war’ if he’s impeached

Republican Rep. Adam Kinzinger blasted President Donald Trump on Sunday night after the president quoted a Fox News contributor who warned of possible civil war if he is impeached.

                  @realDonaldTrump
....If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.” Pastor Robert Jeffress, @FoxNews
The Illinois congressman, who is an Iraq War veteran, was the highest-profile Republican to criticize Trump, who Sunday night tweeted a quote by pastor Robert Jeffress earlier in the day on Fox News: “If the Democrats are successful in removing the President from office (which they will never be), it will cause a Civil War like fracture in this Nation from which our Country will never heal.”

Trump actually misquoted Jeffress, who said on Fox News: “I’m afraid it will cause a Civil War-like fracture.”

Kinzinger was outraged by Trump’s tweet. “I have visited nations ravaged by civil war. @realDonaldTrump I have never imagined such a quote to be repeated by a President. This is beyond repugnant,” he said.

Many on social media expressed similar concerns, and said Trump’s tweet was dangerous, tantamount to threatening violence if he is impeached.

Trump spent much of his day tweeting about the impeachment proceedings, claiming he’s been framed, lashing out at the whistleblower and calling for Democratic Rep. Adam Schiff to be investigated for treason, taking up the same topic early Monday with this tweet, ending with the question, “Arrest for Treason?”:

Jeffress is a pro-Trump megachurch pastor from Texas with a record of controversial and offensive comments, including calling climate change “imaginary,” labeling Mormonism “a cult” and saying Jews will go to Hell.

"Trump fails the nation on 'moral, legal and ethical' grounds": Ret. Admiral McRaven

William McRaven, a retired four-star Navy admiral who led U.S. Special Operations Command under Presidents George W. Bush and Barack Obama, believes President Trump has failed the nation on “moral, legal and ethical” standards, and that aides should have stopped him from asking the Ukrainian president to investigate his political rival, former Vice President Joe Biden.

“I do think he should be in trouble,” McRaven told former Obama adviser David Axelrod on a recent episode of his “Axe Files” podcast.

“When we think of dignity — the dignity of the office — it is about doing things that are moral, legal and ethical,” McRaven said. “Ethical, follow the rules. Legal, follow the law. Moral, follow what you know to be right. And my concern with President Trump is that I don’t see him following any of those on a lot of his major decisions.”

McRaven said that the Bush and Obama White Houses had a “rigorous” process to handle calls with foreign leaders. Had Trump followed this precedent, he said, “it would not have gotten the president in this awkward position of, ‘Let me ask for reciprocation for something on Joe Biden.’ That wouldn’t have happened.”

“You would have hoped through the process somebody would have told him time and time again, ‘Mr. President, you can’t do this,’” McRaven continued. “It is against ethics. It is against the law. And it is against, you know, our moral position to be able to ask a fellow president, head of state, to intervene on something that is clearly part of our American electoral process.”

Trump was reportedly warned by aides not to bring up Biden during the July 25 call with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, but did so anyway.

Trump’s appeal to Zelensky, cited in a whistleblower’s complaint against the president, led House Speaker Nancy Pelosi to announce the opening of a formal impeachment inquiry last week.

“I do think he should be in trouble,” McRaven said. “I mean I think this is, again, this is a violation of kind of the fundamentals of the office. You know, never use a foreign country to affect the political outcome of our nation.”

McRaven, who retired from the military in 2014, has been a vocal critic of Trump’s policies. In 2018, he resigned in protest from the Pentagon’s technology advisory board after Trump revoked the security clearance of another critic, former CIA Director John Brennan. Link

McRaven? Probably just another liberal, like most SEALs.

It is well past time for GOPers to man up and decide: nation, or party?

You can't support both, not after multiple White House officials refused to speak up when The Trumpet acted to undermine our democratic processes.
You can't support both, not after Senate GOPers announced that they will acquite The Trumpet ... before a single hearing had been held, before a single shred of evidence had been presented.

You can't support the GOP and the USA at the same time.

Are you saying the leader of one of your political parties solicited interference from a foreign government, and then some of the senior most aides took extraordinary steps to cover it up?

                          Interesting parallel.

No, I am saying supporters of the govt frequently accuse the opposition of being anti-national.

That is what you by implication are saying too : )

DE, it may not be pertinent to bring in comparisons with a very very different country to the US. The styles of government, issues at stake, country's economic status, even the very concept of "right" and "left" are different in each country.

How do you make the charge of anti-national to a President that is America first ?
