Did Chiang Kai-shek play the role of Adolf Hitler during the Chinese Civil War?

What I'm asking is whether his insistence on taking direct control of key battles, combined with his strategic and tactical incompetence led to catastrophic defeats of the Nationalist forces available to him. Whereas Mao seems to have delegated authority to his unit commanders.

Can you be more specific? When did CKS take direct control of battles?
Bear in mind that communications were very poor, and the Chinese Civil War (which one? 1920s, 1930s, 1940s?) spread all across the map.
    Trust me?
    I'm an economist!
