And if Trump made such an announcement, I'd immediately dismiss it as pure fantasy anyway. If it was Clinton, I'd actually take the trouble to fact-check it.

there's always gonna be double-standards in politics, left or right. our side is with the angels, your side is with Satan, thus "flexibility" (read: hypocrisy) is understandable...to a certain extent.

this Clinton hypocrisy falls within the normal range, actually probably better than average for the Clintons (both in HRC's actions regarding this guy, and the left response-- if you like venturing into HuffPo, you can see the split between 'well Trump is 45345435x worse' and 'Clinton messed up').

but for the most part, even putting on my most unbiased lens, at the moment the right is far-outweighing the left on that aspect of hypocrisy. i mean the party of family values and social conservatism went all in for a guy banging a porn star a week after his third wife had his kid...and is still all in, even AFTER the news came out. eh.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

You might not agree with the action taken but at least action was taken. Its not as if she just waved multiple allegations of sexual harassment out the door without taking action

And no I'm not a Hilary Clinton fan.
But, but, but it’s from The New York Times!
Doesn’t that mean GOPers shouldn’t believe a single word of the story?!?

I feel that Clinton handled the situation correctly and that is the way they should all be handled. Now if there are multiple accusations, over a period of time, then you would have to dismiss. However, the question remaining is how did the situation get that far? Now, from the account, it seems this is the first transgression. So should you simple fire the person and kick the can down the road which is what you are doing. Or should you treat as an acute situation before it becomes a chronic condition? While not a physical disease like TB it is a psychological/personality learned behavior disorder. It would make sense to intervene early on. In this case the two involved were separated. Then the offender was required to undergo sexual harassment training. He now has a chance to change his behavior rather than kicking it down the road onto other places of employment. Now if he fails to complete the training you dismiss him. If he has a second occurrence then you dismiss him but at least the attempt was made at remediation.

Of course the advisors don't see it that way. They simply see a liability that needs to be quickly eliminated. Fire him and let him be someone else's problem later on so he isn't ours anymore.

Apparently this is where Trump's real brains hang out...

What you're saying is that HRC has credibility, and DJT doesn't.
If HRC says something incredible, you'll be inclined to check and see if it's right, but if DJT does it, well he just can't be trusted.

I hope I got that right, and I agree.

Personally, I prefer my clowns and comedians to lack credibility and my politicians to hold it in spades.
              But, I repeat myself.

Because its all about feelings not rational thoughts and facts. With the left, perception of the reality is more important than the reality. Actually it is equal to reality in their disturbed minds. Its very femine view of the world and thus totally solipsistic. What it does is that, being passive in nature, it reacts to the reality and than sees that reaction as the reality while the actual reality is irrelevant. That is what left reality is, their reaction and emotions it creates. Those emotions than get projected trough media as the reality and they become the reality. In a way what leftist thinking is augmented reality, sort of like Pokemon Go. Insane but that's the way it is.
That is the reason why here in Serbia, communism was so adored. It has nothing to do with the ideology or anything cognitive. It has to do with the simple fact that men get called by the army, they go to war and die and than you are left with bunch of widows and their children that are growing without father figure. So the natural way of protecting, where there are no defenders is to heard up. Thus communism and all that leftist collectivism comes in as natural way or natural defense mechanism to survive. To form a pack, clan, that is uniform thus safe in their thinking. Neo tribalism, that is what leftist want. That is why the leftist love Islam, sharia, that is why they need migrants, the more backwards and the lower IQ they are the better. It ensures the neo tribal structure in which leftist thrive. Smart, confident people are individualistic and hard to control while low IQ ones are riddled with fears and have no inspiration, rather than to fulfill basic urges, to eat and to procreate, thus are very easy to govern and control.

Funny example is the cartoon "Moana" that illustrates this perfectly. You have a "demi God" whom is typical irresponsible "hot muffin" whom runs around and impregnates women, like a rooster on acid until he tricks the "Gaya" itself and steals "her heart" turning her into a world destroying monstrosity. This metaphor can be related to "older but still hot women" dating younger studs . Than the "princess" (of course) which is a typical feminist SJW decides to "fix" things and has "magic powers" (its loved by water and it can MANIPULATE it) forces the careless narcissistic demiGod to man up and to grow up and return the heart to Gaya. Of course in that process he is castrated and the brave little SJW returns things to normal.

Toxic masculinity and all that jazz. But meanwhile, in the real world, Jihad boys rant, rape, pillage and burn.

                    That's exactly what I'm saying.

Which is saying a lot, because I trust Hillary Clinton about as far a I can throw my house.

True, but somehow the Left manages to jack it up to 11.

I'll give the Left credit where credit is due and condemn the Right when it's warranted, but this is one area that the Left is notorious for.

it's been a while since the Left has hit that level of crazy...after all, wasn't the Left that came up with Pizza-gate, Jade Helm, birtherism, Walmart staging areas, FEMA concentration camps, black helicopters, NWO.

as i said a long time ago, the Left's problem is intellectual smugness, the Right's problem is anti-intellectual paranoia. these are neuroses that feed off of each other.

Um. Every time "gun control" gets brought up?

100% agreement with the rest of it though.

Are..are you actually Cathy Newman? Is the whole "So you're saying" thing some kind of leftist mental disease?

Go back and read the last few posts between Astralis and myself again, and this time try engaging your brain. I'm too disgusted to even bother explaining it you.

Russian Collusion, Vast Rightwing conspiracy, Iraq was about the US controlling Iraqi oil, adult anatomical males have the right to undress in front of girls, socialism works.... The left certainly is smug, it is not intellectual. The reliance on pathos to the absolute exclusion of logos precludes them being intellectual unless you mean in the absinthe drinking talking about talking sort of way.
