I don't have much of a political say.
That's an easy one. It depends if they were just trying to sneak across the border, or if they crossed to apply for asylum. Illegal crosser's can be deported immediately. Those seeking asylum are not illegal and are not deported unless they cannot make their case before a court. Depending on where they come from they may be granted resident status immediately. An example being Cubans. If they touch dry American soil then they are automatically granted asylum

      • so today Trump attacked his own FBI, DOJ, and intel agencies, all in front of the man responsible for the entire mess.

watching the conference made me sick to my stomach. i literally ran to the office restroom and retched a bit.

You should probably limit your food intake over the next few days. Almost as nauseating will be the wave of support from Trump voters and likely parts of the GOP & Trump-friendly media.

Apparently supporting a hostile foreign dictator who just interfered in a US election against the intelligence services tasked with defending America is now 'patriotism'. What a shameful day for America.

              • So what exactly constitutes treason as in aid and comfort. Is this not comfort in regards to Russia?

SECTION 3. Clause 1. Treason against the United States, shall consist only in levying War against them, or in adhering to their Enemies, giving them Aid and Comfort. No Person shall be convicted of Treason unless on the testimony of two Witnesses to the same overt Act, or on Confession in open court.
Some legal minds say it pertains to the country only at war. Yet in that sentence above I see a ", or" which seems to me even helping an enemy when not at war. Adhering to me means siding with the enemy or am I all wrong in my reading? Also would not cyber intervention be hostilities?

Looking around I find this as to what aid and comfort might mean:

To render assistance or counsel. Any act that deliberately strengthens or tends to strengthen enemies of the United States, or that weakens or tends to weaken the power of the United States to resist and attack such enemies is characterized as aid and comfort.
Could get interesting if the Dems get back the House...

That should send up a flare to even the most committed trump apologist. Even the generally spineless GOP are struggling with this.

What makes all this even worse is that it comes at the end of an 'insult an ally' tour of Europe. Putin may actually die of laughter. Having the 'leader of the free world' practically lick his boots in public is so much more than he could have hoped for.

A few of the Aussies here might remember back in 1987 when media mogul Kerry Packer sold his beloved TV network to Alan Bond for the wildly inflated price of $1 billion. Predictably Bond went broke and packer bought back the network for a fraction of that. Packer famously said 'you only get one Alan Bond in your lifetime'. Putin must think that about Trump every day. No Russian leader's wildest dreams would run to a US President publicly siding with them against their own intelligence community.

                  • So what exactly is Putin's 'hold' on Trump that caused the POTUS' seeming subordination to Vladimir at Helsinki ?

(Does he really have bondage pics of the Donald getting...err...ummm..."rear ended"?) lol

Seriously, I'm wondering why ? Exactly what caused Trump to backtrack within one week on his disappointment with Russia's supposed interference in 2016.
Did Vladimir show Donald the dossier he would hand over to chief investigator Mueller ?

What are are your thoughts ?

Nah, a lot simpler than that. look at who Trump is & what American Conservatism has become.T

Trump is an immensely vain man obsessed with notions of 'strength', 'forcefulness', 'power' etc. Putin is just stroking his ego & telling him what he wants to hear. It really is that easy.

American Conservatism has essentially devolved into a giant troll factory. They hate 'liberals' more than hostile foreign dictators. They see a 'muslim invasion' in every mosque. They see their own societies as 'weak' and 'feminized'. They not so secretly admire Putin's authoritarian anti-liberal nationalism. He hates the same people they do & does the things they fantasise about doing. Trump is surfing that wave like Kelly Slater.

Trump sees Putin as a kindred soul. Putin sees Trump as an easy mark.

I do not know if the alleged "pee tape" exists. We know Trump was "offered" some Muscovite escorts during the Miss Universe 'contest' and we know he has a liking for company of such 'Ladies' from the porn 'actress'. But regardless of sex tapes Trumpkin has been laundering money for Moscow for years. This is why the tax returns can never be released, why the 'Trump Foundation' is now being investigated, why Manafort is accused of the same money laundering. This is what the Muscovites have over Trumpkin. They effectively "own" him and Trumpkin dare not say "Boo" to Putin or the evidence is released and Trumpkin ends in jail double quick time.

I mean, where else is he going to hear it?

So here is the delighful Muscovite 'illegal' (the latest arrested) in the Oval Office with Lavrov and Trumpkin. It is said by some that she (and her senior) were responsible for blocking Mitt Romney as Secretary of State. She is the redhead in the door.

Donald Trump’s press conference performance in Helsinki rises to & exceeds the threshold of “high crimes & misdemeanors.” It was nothing short of treasonous. Not only were Trump’s comments imbecilic, he is wholly in the pocket of Putin. Republican Patriots: Where are you???

How can people still believe that Trumpkin is not deeply compromised?

I doubt it will shake their faith in him. They'll dismiss it as mere "buffoonery" at worst (as usual) and then confidently assert their satisfaction with his "policies"

America's allies are incredulously despondent and America's enemies are incredulously orgasmic.

                              • I reach 20 years of Federal Service in August and am eligible for retirement.

I am seriously wondering if I can still continue to serve in this government...I am as a Civilian Employee of the Department of the army I am a member of the administration.

I do not know if I can continue to serve.

I will at least hold on until I'm 60 in November. I will have the election outcome to help me in my decision.
