  • Jihadi ambassador is back with another Jihad article. Endgame in Afghanistan

Two things in the article that is worth noticing amidst all the crap ISI mercenary failed country rhetoric:
#1. Khalilzad’s talk or fight rhetoric in Kabul may not be all bluster.
#2. US may revert to more aggressive options eg privatising the war, as recommended by ex-Blackwater’s Erik Prince; installing a hardliner like Hanif Atmar in Kabul to continue the fight.

From the noise coming in, Atmar is pro-talks, and I don't really understand the endgame from his POV. His pro-Russia credentials are all over the place, and anyone not pro-Terroristan, oops, Pakistan, is what the PA(ISI) fears. Maybe, he's not pro-talks afterall, why else will he split his loyalty with both Karzai and Ghani, to that of Afghanistan(maybe). Pro-talks has become a dirty word in Afghanistan, it means letting Afghanistan slip into terrorist ranks controlled, aided, abetted by Pakistan.

US wants a permanent military presence in Afghanistan. Trump wants a cheap way out. There's no cheap way out, unless Pak is tamed, purged of its terrorist/hawala/narcotics infrastructure. That can only happen, when bold risks are taken. That bold risk is bombing Pakistan so very badly that not a single blade of grass grows there for the next 50 years. US has very potent hard power, it should use it, not whine later, as it is doing now after 17 lost years.

N.B.: All ex-KHAD/KGB, anti-Taliban people in Afghanistan has been shown the door from time to time. Saleh, Atmar, many more whose names remain in the shadows.

Reminder: Pervez Musharraf once threatened Saleh physically and told Karzai 'Why have you have brought this Panjshiri guy to teach me intelligence?', when Saleh suggested that Usama Bin Laden was hiding in some prominent part of Pakistan. That came true on the intervening night of 01/02-May-2011, when Usama Bin Laden was bitch-slapped by US Navy Seals.

This article has some pertinent info as to where the points of contention lie.

The sources also said that Taliban has agreed to not let al Qaida and Daesh operate in Afghanistan.

The sources added that US officials have asked for a ceasefire but Taliban has demanded a timeline be drawn up for the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan before agreeing to this.

Taliban said they first want to be assured by the US that there will be no threat to regional countries especially Pakistan and then a ceasefire will take place, the sources said.

In these talks, the sources said, US Special Envoy Zalmay Khalilzad asked Taliban to hold talks with the Afghan government and said the talks should be aimed at reforms and not for a demand by the Taliban to control Afghanistan.

However, according to the sources, Taliban has not responded to this call by Khalilzad
The next shows what a loyal proxy the Taliban are

The Taliban has from the start of discussions in Doha reportedly focused on seeking a timetable for the withdrawal of US and NATO-led foreign troops from Afghanistan. The Taliban has however been asked to give assurances that Afghan soil would not be used to threaten any other country.

And what a complicit and deceitful ally Pakistan has been. These talks smack of incompetence of the USGov of the highest order, even after Usama was found living king-like in Abbottabad. Terrorist country as ally, wrong strategies, poor tactics. US follies are too many for them to have been remotely successful.

Could it be that the next big attack on US soil is perpetrated by Pak terrorists specifically manufactured for Paks Kashmir narrative? Time will tell.

I don't know if there is any Pak connection here. This guy wants to join IS but since IS is almost gone he figures Pakistan is his next bet.

Since when is LeT into beheading anyway.

It's the name. PAKISTAN. Why didn't he go to, say France or Belgium? Plenty of terrorists/sleeper cells in those countries. PAKISTAN = Land of the Pure, ofcourse for terrorism and terrorists. Insha Allah Pakistan is #1 for aspiring/newbie terrorists.

BAT = Border Action Team, of the PA which consists of regular PA troops and the jihadi abduls, cross over to Indian territory whenever they can, ambush Indian soldiers, cut their heads off, disfigure bodies. These pricks and Pak should be carpet bombed till the last jihadi abdul stands. I'm resting all of my hopes on the next big war. That will be the decider.

                    • Now what is the deal here. Paks help in a peace settlement in exchange for an IMF bailout ?

'IMF stands ready to support Pakistan,' says Lagarde after meeting PM Khan | Dawn | Feb 10 2019

“A lot of work still needs to be done, but a final agreement should be in place by April and implementation start rolling in June,” said the official, adding that all policy actions would revolve around the next year budget. “We have reached broad understanding and will stay engaged.”
Tentative dates this bailout will come ?

The IMF has been demanding that the burden of any expenditure cuts should fall on current expenditures that include debt service, defence, and subsidies. Previous governments decreased development expenditures when undertaking the Fund’s adjustment and usually left current expenditures alone (other than subsidies).

But the official had said there is certain non-development spending which cannot be discontinued or reduced.
IMF wants cuts to defense but the Paks are resisting ?

Although the government has secured breathing space through Saudi Arabian and United Arab Emirates loans, an IMF programme is essential to unlocking access to resources from other multilateral lenders like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, as well as global capital markets.
Still need that IMF loan though

                          • Should we be doing more to help police Afghanistan ?

We need to get more proactive here with the impending departure of the Americans.

It's just such a hard sell politically.

Look at the drama over one captured pilot.

Now imagine if we have some batallions there and some soldiers are taken prisoner.

It wouldn't take long for the Paks to get Indian public support for a pull out.

This is a very obvious scenario and likely why we don't have any forces there.

We will have to wok with the former Northern alliance.

We can counter the paks here via proxies.

All that requires is writing cheques.

If India negotiates well, America will write cheques. Apart from that, we should also ask US to send in private armies, Blackwater.

                              What we can provide:
#1. Special Forces personnel from Establishment-22, trained by the CIA in the early days.
#2. Military Hardware - Artillery & ammunition, military choppers, SWATI radars as of now. Mig-21B etc later, when we start inducting LCA Mark II.
#3. Training - ramp up military training of Afghans in IMA in 1000s, not 10s or 20s.

                              • The present Afghan NSA Hamdullah Mohib just became PNG in Washington after he slammed the american envoy Zalmay as wanting to become a viceroy of Afghanistan. The Ghani govt is losing patience being excluded from the talks. Afghan general elections were supposed to be held in July this year but have now been pushed back to Sept end.
