"Dear passengers on the second car of this train: We have to kindly ask you to evacuate the train immediately for your own safety."

    (one minute later, outside loudspeakers)

"As a reminder and suggestion, personal luggage should be kept on the person or close at hand so as to identify the owner."

Guess someone got some deescalation training this week. Usually the first thing you notice in the same situation is some police officers clearing the platform next to the train you're sitting in before shoving you off the train the other direction...

They didn't release him though before getting everything he knew about the perp. Which included his veneration of Breivik, his outspoken pride in his (double) Aryan heritage, the fact that he was proud of being born the same day as Hitler, his racist views of Muslims, Arabs and Turks (denigrating Turks as ISIS followers, and members of all three groups as subhuman), and his political leaning towards anti-immigration party AfD. The witness account corrobates with those of other friends of the perp. He used to be called Ali - a name identified as typically Turkish - until entering this phase and forbidding his friends from calling him that.

In light of that police is currently reevaluating the fact that he was exclusively shooting first- and second-generation immigrants of visible minorities (all nine victims had a migration background), and that he stopped firing when no longer presented with such targets despite still in a target-rich environment and having plenty of ammunition left.

We'll just keep calling it an amok run though, not a rightwing-extremist terrorist attack.

Police has arrested a 15-year-old in Ludwigsburg in neighboring Baden-Württemberg last night based on logs for online chats he had with the Munich gunman.

The 15-year-old was arrested on suspicion of preparing another amok run; he himself stated that sure, he did think about it, but currently he wouldn't. At his residence police found small caliber ammunition, multiple bladed weapons, a large cache of chemicals and bomb-building manuals and emergency evacuation plans of the school he attended.
He's since been transferred to a psychiatric station (voluntarily) and will probably only face some minor criminal charges for the ammo and some already assembled explosives that he apparently took pictures of - although that's more because no judge would sign off a jailing warrant for the police based on the situation, and any district attorney knows that a §89a indictment - preparation of a grave crime against the state - would be thrown out the window.

What the British media is making out of it is a bit facepalm-worthy. Express and Mirror state this is a "foiled terror attack" while the Daily Mail interprets the chat protocol - obviously without it ever having been published - as the 15yo "having looked up to" the Munich gunman.

The AP article that they draw that from reads:
Germany: 15-year-old suspected of planning rampage arrested
Published July 27, 2016 Associated Press

BERLIN – German authorities say they've arrested a 15-year-old boy whom they suspect of having planned a rampage and also believe was in contact with a teenager who killed nine people in Munich last week.

Prosecutors and police in Ludwigsburg say the boy was arrested Monday night and sent to a psychiatric facility. A witness said he came across an online chat between the suspect and the Munich shooter, who killed himself amid his July 22 attack.

Officials say there's no suspicion the 15-year-old knew of plans for the Munich attack.

Authorities say the 15-year-old published photos pointing to a possible rampage. They also found bullets, knives, escape plans for his school, chemicals and bomb-making instructions at his home.
(as published by Fox News - surprisingly ... indifferent and without editorial, then again this ain't happening in the US).

You're getting over the top with this stuff. Your opinion may differ from Kato's opinion but that is perfectly ok. However, one cannot argue that he doesn't know his shit to be colloquial. I know in the early days, when I joined the forum forming my opinions of the various characters here while reading, I learned that Kato was a by the book just the facts jack kind of guy. I pretty much would take his stuff to the bank any day of the week.

Now his sense of humor is much like a Silvaner.

Low grade explosives (ie fireworks) are legal, isn't it? Cause I have no idea how you would enforce such a ban.

Fireworks are only legal if the product is tested and registered with the Federal Agency for Materials Proofing, currently set in four categories. There's legally a sales ban and a usage ban on F2 fireworks - pretty much anything you shouldn't explode indoors and should keep a safe distance from - for 362 out of 365 days per year (only allowed to sell 28th to 31st December, only allowed to burn 31st December).
That applies unless you're an approved professional with a business in the field which can also buy F3 or F4 fireworks. Pyrotechnical devices for other purposes - e.g. for stage use or also pyrotechnical safety devices like airbags - are similarly categorized and may require professional licenses or proof of professional training (depending on device at least some safety course) for handling; i once worked in a factory that also produced pyros for airbags, wasn't even allowed near that part of that floor like most.
The amount of - illegal - uncategorized imported fireworks being fired off in Germany is rather large though.

Criminal cases against people building some medium-grade explosives aren't that rare, they find that kind of stuff somewhere in the country about every week. It pretty much only gets interesting and makes the press if there's evidence for a possible wider context, e.g. a known leftwing-extremist with a pipe bomb in his backpack and a t-shirt reading "FCK CPS" arrested in Cologne last month; if there's considerable damage bordering on terrorism, such as a guy that blew up a bus stop two months ago; or if the amounts found are more considerable, like a 16yo that injured himself in an accidental explosion last year and where the police then found enough explosives to prompt an evacuation of 250 neighbors from the immediate area.

You'll find them in about every corner too. 17 years ago - statute of limitations applying - while in service I was hunkering down in a trench on army training grounds and was pretty much suddenly swallowing sand and hearing debris deflecting off the top of my helmet when a corporal decided that the home-built hand-grenade-sized blast devices he tried out before weren't enough and wanted to surprise us by blowing up a nearly half-kilogram package instead. He got chewed out a bit for that (and told never to bring them again), although as a measure of scale of the acceptance of such that chewing out was pretty much on par what another guy got for firing off a flare rocket while standing under a tree.

It was his first ever flare rocket. Half the tree came crashing down in flames.

With his second ever flare rocket - an hour and a quick course on how to properly use the launcher later - he aimed at a lower angle and carefully checked above him. The flare went off fine. And due to the low angle straight into camouflage netting above a dugout 50 meters ahead of him, setting it on fire. With two guys laying prone underneath.

Same guy also managed to compact a water tank trailer by drawing on it with a pump without opening the air inflow to the tank first. He - and everyone else around - noticed when the connections between the fibreglass tank and the metal struts of the trailer broke with a rather loud snap.

He was kinda the one guy in the unit you didn't give any sort of equipment if you could avoid it. Every company in our batallion had a guy like that. One sergeant in another company managed to wreck five APCs in four years, every single one with a different cause. From ramming buildings to drowning them in a river. Both at home and on deployment in Macedonia and Kosovo.

what? didnt accuse him anything. Just ask him one question. he can ignore it if he doesnt want to answer. Actually he did that all the times. He knows his limits.

Actually it's more that you're on my ignore list and clicking to read your post is a bit tedious since you do tend to repeat yourself without much added substance.

Ya know, the latest joke i've heard about ISIS is that "They've got billions of dollars and thousands of men while the refugee situation would have allowed them to slip hundreds into Germany - and their total kill count in Germany is still zero, their own guys excluded. Outdone by a single racist kid in five minutes. That's really gotta make for interesting strategy sessions in Raqqah."

West doesn't know what Sharia law is and it doesn't know what it means to live under a Muslim rule. West sees and understands Islam from a superiority perspective, deeply convinced that it will be always on top of it and therefore it doesn't see it as threat, but rather as an asset.

Islam is a total matriarchy and that is why it is so well accepted by European progressives and especially feminists.

Uhh...Matriarchy? I'm pretty sure the Saudi's didn't get the memo. Or almost any other Islamic country I can think of.

Now all you have to do is convince the Muslims of that.
