    Btw,

"Turkish PM said the country hosting Gulen can be considered at war with Turkey. As of now Gulen resides in US of A"
This translation is a bit flawed. Tho it is similar, the word "savaşım" is not necessarily the synonym of the word "savaş" which means "war" a very hard nuance.

It is, in this phrase, means something like struggling but one sided. Like: that country is violating us...not a definitive war.

İn this phrase it is more likely being used as "struggle" but started Turkey.

It is hard to translate this very thin nuance.
Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none; be able for thine enemy rather in power than use; and keep thy friend under thine own life's key; be checked for silence, but never taxed for speech.

Islamic fundamentalist dictators often imagine America is committing acts of aggression against them. Nothing new, the language doesn't matter.

So at what point does Turkey staying in NATO become untenable? If the army doesn't have the final say any more and the government is turning more and more Islamist then I don't see this friendship lasting much longer.

One can't just expell a member. To my understand it is the NATO Council who would make the decision, and it's a decision made by consensus...

Quite contrary, I see it blooming. The secret love affair, between Europeans aka the West and the Islamist, is a known fact. Like any "guilty pleasure" it will always be denied and judged, but its existence cannot be denied.

It's not the West, its the western latte socialists. The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Their enemy is anything nationalist or populist within their own country, if Islamism is a stick they can poke 'right wingers' with they take to it like a duck to water.
They revile Christians because they are 'right wing' but worship Islamist's because it pisses off the 'right'. You see exactly the same attitude with the US democrat party as you do with Hollande's Socialist Party. Despite the terror attacks in France, Hollande always states that nationalists and populists are his enemy, just as Obama and Clinton do in the States. All three have stated this again emphatically in the last three days.

Err, my brain sees it differently. I mean, I can go on and on, Saudis and Americans, Iran and BP, Taliban and king Zbiggy, support of Ottoman empire by the UK and the Europeans, trough out 19th century, in the 20th century, support to Chechen, Bosnian and Albanian headcutters all wrapped up in a nice liberal mantra about human rights, values etc. I mean, I don't want to be rude, we did those things also, but we were not the only ones.

                      • That was a time when the Ottomans got their ass kicked badly(as it looks now, they got their ass kicked for 100 years),while creating the ME protectorates(also for 100 years).

We aren't looking now at Lawrence,we're looking at sultan Orhan. We'll see when/if Murat I and Bayezid show up.

Well, its not far off, the neo-Osmanism is a natural course of events and it is desirable for the Eu and the UK, US that goes without saying. The guy that stopped the tank, the one on the bridge was from our backyard, he is a Muslim form a Sanjak region and that is a sure fire sign for me, where this thing will end up. All matches up, the Bosnia is brewing again, the coming of Great Albania...everything is settling down quite nicely.

Weren't it the Conservatives bashing Obama for not arming the Sunni Islamists enough to topple Assad? Or John McCain running around and bending over backwards to protect the Muslim Brotherhood?

Afterall, even the Islamists are politically what you'd call "right wing".

And as for clubbing all so called "lefties" together; Hollande and Obama should be propping up their ideological socialist brother Assad, not his right wing Islamist enemies, right? So maybe left or right doesn't matter; Islamists are enjoying support across the political spectrum.

                              • I've learned about this event, 4 minutes after the action started. It was surreal,as I was modeling an weasel character and suddenly three of my skype contacts popped up, one from Serbian part of Bosnia, second from Israel and third from Moscow. The news didn't even reached the networks and we started analyzing it right away. I've projected that the situation will be resolved around 4 am, once the adrenaline rush settles down, giving the number of actors, timing and overall situation. But the minute that the Erdongan called the people and said God, I knew that something fishy was going on. Hence, the analysis suggests that this cue was carefully planned by him and that main goal is to cleanse the military structures from secular Attaturk's legacy, in preparation for much broader advance and conflict in the near future. Therefore I see all this as steps for the Crimea War reboot. War with Russia is question of time.

This old man served under the Ottoman rule and he shows up in the same uniform almost a century later. This will ignite the Balkans and Bosnia in particular. Things are gaining momentum.
