  • Argentina says fugitive spy chief flew to U.S. after prosecutor's death

    http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/...0S12EG20151007

A fugitive former spy chief accused by the Argentine government of involvement in the murky death of a federal prosecutor in January flew from Brazil to the United States a month later, Argentina's security ministry said on Tuesday.

The ministry said Interpol in Brazil provided the information on Antonio Stiuso, one-time operations chief of the now disbanded Intelligence Secretariat, after a "blue notice" seeking details on Stiuso's location was issued last month.

Argentina suspects Stiuso is seeking refuge in the United States and has criticized Washington for failing to answer repeated enquiries about the spy master's whereabouts.

"A similar report is required from Interpol in Washington," the Security Ministry said in a statement.

He conveniently missed a part of the article:

State prosecutor Alberto Nisman was found with a single bullet to the head days after accusing Fernandez of trying to cover up Iran's alleged role in the 1994 truck-bombing of a Jewish center in Buenos Aires.

Fernandez and her ministers say Stiuso tricked Nisman into fabricating baseless allegations to destabilize the government and then needed him dead, and have previously questioned whether the spy chief was working for the United States.

The attack on the AMIA center killed 85 people, the deadliest in Argentine history. Iran has repeatedly denied any link to the bombing and an Argentine judge tossed out Nisman's accusations.
Fernandez is the president. Stiuso is the intelligence chief. The victim was a special prosecutor investigating the government, who was getting ready to present a case against the president. He is then found dead in his apartment under suspicious circumstances. After months of trying to deny that the death was foul play, the government now accuses a former spy chief of tricking the prosecutor (whom, by the way, is deeply respected in Argentina) with false evidence and then somehow killing him.

Really, this all makes -perfect- sense.

If the guy flew to the US hoping to hide from justice he screwed up, because the US and Argentina have an extradition treaty. If Argentina can show that they have a substantial case against the guy and not just political problems with him, he'll be sent back.

Wouldn't care for his threads and might even read up on the subject matter if it's interesting but the guy has this weird habit of picking and choosing excerpts that fits his preconceptions and posting that only instead of posting the entire article.

Same as the other troll thread.

                Annoying little bastard.

Look at the cheer leaders run in like roaches

Conspiracy or not. Argentina asked the US eight times regarding the whereabouts of the fugitive
The whole world knows Antonio Stiuso went from Argentina to Brazil
The whole world also knows that he then flew on a Italian passport [wonder where he got that from] to Miami

Now the onus is on the USG to tell the Argentinians where this ex official went after Miami. I mean it should take about 2 secs to put the query in the system and get the answer

But the proclivity of the USG shenanigans comes to the fore again

someone here asks astutely that Argentina and US has a extradition agreement. now if this guy didnt have any guarantees why the heck would he run to the US. Critical reasoning seems be short this Thursday afternoon

yellowfever.Nice bait to get me to respond. Lol. Keep trying old fool. It does hurt when you get to see how rotten the bastion of freedumb and democracy is.

Steve, it has been 7 months since he escaped the coop. You would think the US would have at least responded.

The argentinian govt has asked the USG 8 times regarding his whereabouts since Feb 19.

Some more details regarding the very public request by the Argentinian govt

                      http://en.mercopress.com/2015/09/30/...ding-in-the-us

Cristina Fernandez dedicated much of her speech on Monday before the UN General Assembly to talk about the spy-case and lack of cooperation from the US, and on Tuesday an anonymous alleged State Department spokesperson told the Argentine media that there would be no comments on the whereabouts of 'Stiuso' from the US government.
“None of Argentina's requests was anonymous, all and each of them were made public, with a responsible signature and without hiding or misleading about the motives for such requests. We expect a similar treatment from the US authorities”, said the release from Argentina's Foreign Affairs ministry.
”Given the iterated silence from the US government, ambassador Nahon again on 9 September sends a letter iterating the cooperation request, but again with no reply.

“The Argentine Justice system has sent eight exhorts with so far no reply on the information requested. The anonymous spokesperson for the State Department should know that since last April, Argentine prosecutors from the AMIA case have been unable to summon Stiuso, since they ignore his whereabouts and have thus asked Interpol for a blue alert, to help find the person.

You're on borrowed time. It hasn't escaped anybody's notice that you post nothing but flamebait.

and you seem to have conveniently forgot what he called. I posted a very normal news item and you have a bunch of people jumping in attacking me instead of the news.

In case you have amnesia, here is what he posted. So let's see a borrowed time post for him as well.
