But their first instincts were repulsive.Go for censorship and start making threats.

After the child Kurdi's pictures went on viral it made people make emotional decisions in many countries. Being helpful is absolutely humane of those who let the refugees in, but will the same be reciprocated by the so called refugees is the question. Will they accept that they are in a different country and have to start following it's rules and don't overplay their position and lose sympathy. Like the one in Hungary where they threw the food away and everyone wanting to go to Germany for it's better social welfare wherein it isn't sure if they will accept some poor European country as their shelter. IMO most of these so called refugees are fleeing to Germany are going in for economic reasons. MOST but not all.

      • These sort of emotional things are always manipulated. And manipulations are in service of political decisions.

If these guys were honest, they could have organized the entire flow. But they wanted to see the reaction. They wanted ''emotional'' pictures of suffering children and their poor parents to make the whole show more palatable.

I'm twice disgusted.First,by the entire establishment effort to fill Europe with 3d worlders, for their own short sighted political interests. It can only bring destruction on a massive scale.Second by the cynical exploitation of those poor people.Genuine solutions exist, but they are not going to be liked by these clowns.

Migrants: Germany crashes into the wall of reality and finally suspended the Schengen Agreement

Marine Le Pen, President of the National Front

After fully opened to migrants for low economic reasons, in seeing this human mass reservoir of low-cost workers, Germany is suddenly overtaken by the reality of its migration madness.

Completely overwhelmed by the unprecedented influx of illegal immigrants on its territory, themselves attracted to the irresponsible statements of Merkel, Germany has finally resolved to radically change policy by suspending the Schengen Agreement, and restoring its border with Austria.

By followership and ideology, the French Government has put him in the worst situation, agreeing to impose on French borne migrants that Germany has come to Europe, and eventually she no longer wishes also widely received.

It is also and above all a terrible disavowal for all French politicians, UMP PS, which have consistently rejected and denigrated national borders, as they are, we see, and the only effective bulwark realistic about the migratory crisis and the human trafficking that feed it.

Unfortunately the damage is done by a set of communicating vessels permitted by the completely free movement of people, illegal cross borders of European countries without any control.

The National accordingly requests the French Government to suspend Front urgently turn the Schengen Agreements and restores its borders, particularly with Germany to prevent the overflow of illegal immigrants which it does not come over here.

What is currently playing on our continent is the ultimate failure of a European system detached from reality and embedded in its dogmas. The restoration of national borders is a matter of political pragmatism and common sense.

              • The BBC etc tell you what they want you to know not the truth , just , the bleeding heart shite . Germany is fast twisting the rules to suit as are other EU countries .

the problem facing Europe is not only the vast number of migrants flooding the continent. It is that, from past experience, these people do not escape the Middle East. They bring the Middle East with them. The result is enormous strain on the social fabric of the host nations. It becomes increasingly difficult to assimilate the immigrants with the people already there, as governments try to accommodate the overwhelming weight of strangers who do not know their customs and do not speak their languages. Multiculturalism was a dream. It failed. In its place seems to be an emerging nightmare of unmanageable proportions.

US should help those Afghans and Iraqis who helped us when we were there fighting the terrorists. Their lives are probably and legitimately in danger after we left. I don't care about others.

Another thing, these refugees appear to be well dressed, well fed, and in good health. They are not the type of refugees we saw during past wars. They do not look like the boat people from Vietnam, nor the peasants in Korea, nor the Chinese in WW2, nor the Germans after WW2, nor the Eastern Europeans as the Red Army was driving up.

Why don't they escape toward Saudi Arabia and the rich Gulf states? Why don't they open their doors and help out their fellow muslims? I totally understand why Hungary (and a few others) would accept only Christian refugees. They can't go to Saudi Arabia. If these muslims can't go to another muslim nation for help, what does that say about muslims?

What we need to do is to help Assad crushing the rebels. Re-establish dictatorships across Middle East.

Did we not learn from our mistake in Iraq? There needs to be a dictator to keep the different tribes in line. It's much easier to deal with a dictator than a few dozen terrorist factions. We spent blood and treasure to restore Iraq back to a semi functioning nation, because like what Colin Powell said, "you broke it, you bought it."

Why did we help the "Arab Spring" in removing the dictators in Libya and Egypt, and putting another one on the ropes in Syria? Is this how our government does business? Ignore previous failures and continue with the same government program because all we need is more time and more money for it to succeed.

I fully support Lord Vladimir in his Syrian venture. He understands that a practical solution to a real world problem is better than an ideal solution that doesn't work in the real world.

                  • I can prove muslims are smarter than Christians.

                    1. When muslims are in trouble, they escape to Christian nations, not fellow muslims.

                    2. Muslim nations do not like other muslims coming in, especially refugees.

                    3. Christians don't remember that muslims don't remember being helped by Christians.

                        • A good read that I came across,

                          The Greater Middle East Project

There have been many articles on the Geopolitics & strategic affairs of the Syrian Civil War since 2010 & the subsequent rise of Extremely Violent Terrorist Groups like ISIS (Islamic State in Syria & Iraq). While a lot has been written on Syria & Iraq in the past few years about Terrorist Groups like ISIS, Jabhat ul Nusra, Russia’s support to Assad & Iran’s support to Assad & Hezbollah; much has been hidden from the larger public discourse on the crisis unfolding in the Middle East. The endeavour of this article is to assimilate those hidden clues to piece together the whole jigsaw puzzle of what’s unfolding in the Middle East & North Africa Region. It’s time to try & unravel the mystery of the wars and extremism in MENA (Middle East & North Africa) Region.

The Seeds of the Sordid Saga of the Wars currently in the MENA Region have their roots in months just after 9/11, when United States was attacked by Bin Laden’s Al-Qaeda based out of Afghanistan which lead to start of the Campaign on “War on Terror” - the first being the War in Afghanistan followed by Iraq & then Libya. Retd General Wesley Clarke (Former NATO Commander General) in an Interview in October 2007 in San Francisco revealed that he visited Pentagon in the year 2001 just months post 9/11 during the Afghan Invasion where he met the defense officials of the Bush Administration & upon Inquiry was told “I just got this memo from the Secretary of Defense’s office. It says we’re going to attack and destroy the governments in 7 countries in five years – we’re going to start with Iraq, and then we’re going to move to Syria, Lebanon, Libya, Somalia, Sudan and Iran”.

Clark said the aim of this plot was this: “They wanted us to destabilize the Middle East, turn it upside down, and make it under our control.” He then recounted a conversation he had had ten years earlier with Paul Wolfowitz -the then number-3-Pentagon-official in 1991, after criticizing Bush for not toppling Saddam, told Clark: “But one thing we did learn [from the Persian Gulf War] is that we can use our military in the region - in the Middle East and the Soviets won’t stop us. And we’ve got about 5 or 10 years to clean up those old Soviet regimes – Syria, Iran, and Iraq, before the next great superpower comes along to challenge us.” Clark said he was shocked by Wolfowitz’s desires because, as Clark put it: “the purpose of the military is to start wars and change governments. It’s not to deter conflicts”.

                          The Greater Middle East Project:

Middle East has been evolving since centuries from the Fall of the Ottoman Empire after World War 1 to the Colonization of Middle east under Sykes-Picot Agreement of May 1916 when Middle East was de facto partitioned by the Great Powers of Europe i.e. French & British. The seeds of present conflict were sown during & post WW1 where the Allied Powers plotted the fall of Ottoman Empire -the last Caliphate by militarizing the warlords & tribes in Arabia to revolt against the Ottomans. After WW1, the Great Powers divided Middle East in such a fashion where people of different ethnicities were fused together in one state while their population was spread all across the region, sowing the seeds of future conflict. The Allied Powers also denied the promised homeland of Kurdish people, a demand which looks inevitable in the Present Scenario.

At the start of the 21st Century The Neo-Cons in the Bush administration coined the term “New Middle East” that was introduced to the world in June 2006 by the then U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice. The Project called New Middle East a term inter-changeably used for Greater Middle East is about the spread of Anglo-American Military Dominance over a resource rich region that is the Energy (Oil & Gas) source of most of the world. The Greater Middle East project aims to perpetuate conflict & war, which is a boon not only for the American Military-Industrial Complex but also Russian Arms Manufacturers who make merry as the conflict rages on, while the public suffers. Once the Public is tired of protracted conflict & bloodshed; these very powers will offer solutions like Safe Zones, Partition of Countries etc. A Classic Case of Hegelian Dialect where first you create a problem that provokes the needed reaction & then you offer a pre-conceived solution. Greater Middle East project is also about putting various ethnicities in the region against each other like Shia vs Sunni, Kurds Vs Turks with the ultimate aim to benefit the Military-Industrial complex of Global Powers that contribute substantially to their economic machine.

In his book, The Grand Chessboard: American Primacy and Its Geo-strategic Imperatives, Zbigniew Brzezinski, a former U.S. National Security Advisor, alluded to the modern Middle East as a control lever of an area he calls the Eurasian Balkans. The Eurasian Balkans consists of the Caucasus (Georgia, the Republic of Azerbaijan, and Armenia) and Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, and Tajikistan) and to some extent both Iran and Turkey. Iran and Turkey both form the northernmost tiers of the Middle East (excluding the Caucasus) that edge into Europe and the former Soviet Union.

America invaded Iraq on the pretext of Weapons of Mass Destruction which the world believed were never found, but were actually procured with the help of Donald Rumsfeld who met Saddam Hussein in 1983 in a meeting in Baghdad as the representative of American Pharmaceutical Company which later supplied Chemical weapons to Iraq that were used against Iran in the decade long Iran-Iraq war. It is ironical that the same very Donald Rumsfeld who supplied chemical weapons to Iraq later lead the campaign in Gulf War 2 in 2003, which aggravated the chaos that we see today. Gulf War 2 was instrumental in not only removing Saddam but also dismantling the Modern State of Iraq by purging the Iraqi Administration of Baath Party elements & the Republican Guard which formed the core nucleus that held Iraq together.

                          The Arab Spring:

The Sordid saga of the Middle East did not end with Neo-Cons in the Bush administration but the process to carve out a Greater Middle East was hastened under Obama Administration through Sponsored Revolutions & NGO Movements using Social Media to propagate Democracy & Woman Rights in societies and cultures that are paradoxically opposite to the West & essentially conservative in roots. Contrary to popular belief, evidence is now building that the Arab Spring was indeed engineered by the US Policy Directive, information about PSD – 11 (Presidential Study Directive) a classified document reveals that the Obama administration conducted an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood in 2010 and 2011, beginning even before the events known as the “Arab Spring” erupted in Tunisia and Egypt. The President personally issued Presidential Study Directive 11 (PSD-11) in 2010, ordering an assessment of the Muslim Brotherhood and other “Political Islamist” movements, including the ruling AKP in Turkey; ultimately concluding that the United States should shift from its longstanding policy of supporting “stability” in the MENA (that is, support for “stable regimes” even if they were authoritarian), to a policy of backing “moderate” Islamic political movements. For the past decade, two successive US administrations have maintained close ties with the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt, Tunisia, Syria and Libya, to name just a few prominent cases.

The mass regime change Programme Engineered by US & its Deep State instrumentalities is further confirmed by US State Department Document put out in October 2012 titled: “Middle East Partnership Initiative: Overview,” that spells out an elaborate structure of State Department programs aimed at directly building “civil society” organizations, particularly non-governmental organizations(NGOs), to alter the internal politics of the targeted countries in favor of U.S. foreign policy and national security objectives. MEPI engages in all the countries of the NEA region through its instrumentalities like USAID & other NGO networks, creating movements like Coloured Revolutions of Ukraine. The Arab Spring though successful in Tunisia, has been reversed in majority of the countries where civil rights movements were engineered. The Muslim Brotherhood Government lead by Morsi in Egypt has been ousted by Egyptian Military General El Sisi who has cracked down on the Extremists elements but faces a daunting task of bigger conflicts with ISIS in Sinai, chaotic Libya & Domestic opposition from Extremist Groups like Muslim Brotherhood that are banned in most of the Gulf States, Russia, Egypt etc. The Revolt in Bahrain was also quelled with the Help of Saudis in return for Arab Cooperation with NATO in the Conflict of Libya-another Oil Rich African State. The Conflict in Libya lead by NATO is what sowed the seeds of the mess we see today in Syria. The Bombing of Libya & dismantling the state structure has left a gaping hole for the Terrorists & Extremists to prosper.

                          Syria-Iraq Quagmire:

Syrian Civil war that began as a movement of doctors, professionals engineered as part of the Arab Spring spiraled into chaos after Assad Regime cracked down on the Movement leading to the taking of arms by Sunni dominated Syria against a Minority Backed Govt lead by President Bashar Al Assad. The Roots of the Syrian civil are deeply inter-connected to Dismantling of Iraq in 2003 & later Libya in 2010. The Assad regime tried to placate the activists with reforms & later released Al-Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood figures that were all but finished since 1980s. Assad finally tried to emulate the brutal crackdown by his father in 1980s but that boomeranged badly on his regime. The regime facilitated Al-Qaeda’s safe passage into Iraq after US Invasion of Iraq in 2003, which was repelled during the Surge of 2007-08 with help of Local Sunni Tribes pushing the militants back into Syria. Al-Qaeda under Golani & Zawahiri regrouped & recruited foreign militants from the Turkish border & formed a group called Jabhat Ul Nusra in Syria. Nusra’s aim was to portray itself as moderate Group discreetly hiding its real identity of being an Al-Qaeda Front & in the Early Days even Baghdadi who was released from Camp Bucca by US was with Nusra. The Origins of ISIS are also intertwined with Af-Pak Region as Zarqawi Al-Qaeda’s 2nd in Command escaped from Kandahar to Iraq via Iran through the contacts of Afghan Warlord Gulabuddin Hekmaktyar. Zarqawi‘s Al -Qaeda later committed Shia massacres in Iraq that precipitated the Ethnic Tensions in Iraq; he was later killed in 2006 US Strike. After Zarqawi, Zawahiri’s Nusra front has tried to disassociate itself with Baghdadi lead ISIS.

The Protests that erupted in Syria in 2010 later turned violent as Groups like Nusra & its Breakaway Faction earlier known Al-Qaeda in Iraq in 2007-08, later branded itself as Islamic State in Iraq (ISI) to finally ISIS (Islamic State in Iraq & Syria) propped up with its stronghold in North-Eastern Syria extending all the way up to Mosul in Northern Iraq & the vast swaths of Land in the Anbar province of Western Iraq. ISIS is known for its grotesque violence while Nusra (AQ) that controls the region in Southern Syria is known as comparatively moderate group. The Theatre of Proxy War is more complex in Syria with American Allies like Saudis, Qatar, Turkey, Kuwait funded Nusra, ISIS with weapons & arms purchased from Croatia were Flown on Jordanian Cargo & delivered via Jordan & Turkey Border to the Syrian Rebels. Another front in Syria is FSA (Free Syrian Army) which comprises of Doctors, Civil Rights Activists but is mostly dominated by Syrian National Council that is a front of Muslim Brotherhood. Even the EU Decision in 2013 to lift Syrian Oil Embargo boosted Jihadi Groups like Nusra who controlled the Critical oil fields in Syria & earned hefty amounts by trading Oil and Gas with Assad’s regime & rest of the world in the Black Market. In the Civil war of Syria- it is Turkey that has turned a blind eye to ISIS activities on its soil acting as a frontline state just like Pakistan is to Afghanistan.

Syria is a complex case of Shia-Sunni Proxy War of Syian Rebels like FSA, Jaish Al Fatah, etc. There is Nusra in the South gaining in on the regime, while ISIS that controls NE Syria to Northern & Western Iraq is aided by American weapons received from the fleeing Iraq Army & huge Oil Money. On the other hand it’s the Kurdish factions in Syria like YPG, Peshmargas in Iraq (KRG, Barzani Faction) & the Militant PKK that Turkey is targeting to pre-empt the formation of a Kurdish Independent State that could threaten stability of Turkey in Kurdish dominated areas adjoining Iraq & Syria. Adding to this chaos in Syria is Russia’s backing of Assad’s Military & Iran’s Covert Support to Assad Regime via Hezbollah in a bid to retain the Shia Crescent of Syria, Iraq & Iran against the Sunni Arab states.

After going though the above facts, it begs a question-Was this all planned as a part to carve out Greater Middle East with Trifurcation of Iraq & Syria based on Ethnic lines as displayed in the 2006 map of Colonel Ralph Peters? Was launching an Arab Spring part of Destabilization programme after Dismantling Iraq & Libya? The answers to all this lie in recently declassified documents of US intelligence of 2012 that certify that Arm Shipments were shipped from Benghazi, Libya to the port of Banias in Syria in Late August 2012 just before the Benghazi attack on US Consulate where its ambassador to Libya was killed.

Another DIA Declassified document Gives an uncanny hypothesis in 2012 as to what may happen in Iraq & Syria in future and the events quite intriguingly have turned out the same way if we look back. The Hypothesis goes on the lines that “Syrian Civil War will spiral out into a Proxy War between Russia, Iran & China backed Assad Regime trying to control the Druze & Alawaite Dominated Costal Regions, Cities like Homs, Damascus being crucial to it while the Opposition fighting for control in Eastern Syria, Turkish border will be backed by western powers & Gulf states like Turkey backing it”. The DIA Report of 2012 very uncannily predicts “Salafist principality might be formed in Eastern Syria backed by powers supporting the Opposition to isolate the Syrian Regime & Shia Expansion”. The Report Further states that this “proxy war will lead to Jihadist Element taking over Sunni Dominated areas of Mosul & Ramadi in Iraq”. The report also further goes on state that “ISI could establish Islamic State through its union of other Terrorist Organizations across Iraq & Syria proving to be a Grave Danger to Iraq effort to hold on its territory together”.

Future Trends in Syria & the Middle East:

In most likelihood after the Iran Nuclear Deal, the negotiations between Russia, Saudi Arabia & US on Syria have begun to find a negotiated settlement like the latest round of meetings in Doha on sidelines of GCC meeting. There is also renewed talk that Syria, like Iraq could be de facto Partitioned. The likely settlement could be that Assad will hold on to Druze & Alwaite dominated Enclave in Syria next to the coast including Cities of Homs, Damascus, while sharing power with the Moderate Opposition that includes FSA & perhaps even some Nusra (Al-Qaeda) elements could be brought into the mainstream just like Taliban in Afghanistan while the De facto Autonomous Kurdish State gains prominence as being the frontline battle ground with ISIS in Northern & Western Iraq. The theater of battle could later expand to Caucuses, Central Asia & Af-Pak that could provide supplies to the ultra jihadist in addition to MENA Region, Europe, and SE Asia while launching audacious attacks worldwide.

The above declassified documents of DIA along with Corroborative evidence in form of PSD-11 regarding Arab Spring & the interview of Retd General Wesley Clarke of 2007 substantially point to the fact that the events in Syria-Iraq & the Larger Middle East are not sudden or coincidental but rather cold & calculated strategies made in advance and executed almost to perfection to create the ‘Greater Middle East’ as depicted in the 2006 map of Colonel Ralph Peters. In this War on Terror post 9/11, one common trend that is noticeable is-The taking down of Ancient Civilizations from Mesopotamia in Iraq & Syria, to Egypt to Indus Valley in the Subcontinent & ultimate destruction of their culture, legacy and heritage. What could be the motive behind it- is a question open to the public to think & ponder upon.

The article seems to give way too much credit to the ability of the US to influence world events. There is no doubt that the US government tries to shape events to it's advantage much like every other government, but if the US possessed the kind of soft power implied in the article here, the 2003 invasion of Iraq would have been wrapped up with a nice pretty bow by 2005.

Refugee crisis: Emergency EU migrant talks as border controls return to Europe
Germany and Austria temporarily reintroduce border controls as tens of thousands of migrants pour in ahead of talks on Monday

European ministers will hold emergency talks on Monday on plans to distribute migrants around the continent, after Germany reintroduced border controls admitting it could no longer cope with the influx.
As city after city across Germany announced it had no more room for the tens of thousands of refugees pouring into the country, and the mayor of Munich warned that new arrivals would soon be sleeping in the streets, chancellor Angela Merkel’s government announced it was reimposing controls on its border with Austria.

All train services between the two countries were stopped at 5pm local time (4pm BST), and hundreds of police were on their way to secure the border.
“The aim of this measure is to limit the current flow to Germany and restore an orderly process,” Thomas de Maiziere, the German interior minister, said in a terse statement in Berlin.
Within hours, the Czech Republic announced that it was imposing similar measures on its own border with Austria.
It came as the UN refugee agency warned that the EU must avoid fragmenting into a patchwork of countries with different border rules that would plunge thousands of refugees into "legal limbo".
Decisions by a meeting of EU ministers of the interior on Monday would be "even more critical", UNHCR said.
The announcement in Berlin signalled a dramatic shift in policy by Mrs Merkel’s government. Just a week ago, there were emotional scenes in Munich as hundreds of local people turned out to cheer arriving refuges, after Germany announced it would let them in to avert a humanitarian crisis.

But on Sunday, Mr de Maiziere said the country could not be expected to cope with the burden alone.
“In recent weeks Germany has shown great willingness to help, from both professionals and volunteers. But this willingness should not be overstretched,” he said.
“This measure is therefore also a signal to all of Europe: Germany is committed to its humanitarian responsibilities, but the burden of such a large number of refugees must be shared fairly around Europe.”
The European Commission said Germany appeared to be legally justified in reimposing the border controls, which are allowed as a temporary emergency measure under the Schengen agreement.

“The German decision of today underlines the urgency to agree on the measures proposed by the European Commission in order to manage the refugee crisis,” it said in a statement.
EU ministers will discuss a proposal by Jean-Claude Juncker, the Commission president, to redistribute 160,000 refugees among member states.
Britain will not have to take any refugees under the scheme, as it has an opt-out.
The refugee crisis has exposed huge cracks in the EU's current Dublin system, under which migrants must seek asylum in the country in which they first arrive.
EU governments have descended into open sparring over responsibility for the new arrivals, with neighbours accusing each other of failing to register migrants and instead shunting them on to the next destination. Others complain of unfairly large burdens, or argue that they cannot be expected to intercept migrants bent on reaching the country of their choice.
But Mr de Maiziere stressed that until a new system was in place, member states would have to follow the existing rules.
“Under current European law Germany is not responsible for the vast majority of asylum seekers,” he said.

“The competent member state has a responsibility not only to register asylum-seekers, but to carry out the asylum procedure.”
Refugees cannot pick and choose which country to settle in, he said.
“Asylum-seekers have to accept that they cannot choose which EU member state gives them protection. This will also apply when it comes to a European distribution.”
Earlier on Sunday, Mr de Maiziere said: “It can't be our duty to pay benefits laid out in German law to refugees who have been allocated to one EU country and then come to Germany anyway.

Sigmar Gabriel, Germany's vice-chancellor, blamed "Europe's inaction" in the refugee crisis for having stretched his country's capacity to host asylum-seekers to its limit.
"Europe's inaction in the refugee crisis had driven German in the meanwhile to the limit of its capacity," Mr Gabriel told the Tagesspiegel newspaper.
The problem is "not the number of refugees but the rapidity at which they arrived", which complicated the work of regional states and German cities, he told the Berlin daily.
Mr Gabriel, who is also economy minister, urged Europe to examine how it can "quickly help in an efficient way the countries of origins of these refugees".
He suggested "immediate aid of €1.5 billion (£1.1 billion)" put forward by Germany and Europe for the biggest refugee camps, such as those in Lebanon and Jordan, for schools, food and lodgings.
Currently, most refugees want to go to Germany or Sweden, where they get a warmer welcome and more generous benefits.

The apparent U-turn by Mrs Merkel’s goverment came after authorities in Munich, the entry point for most migrants in Germany, appealed for help to cope with the influx.
“We are simply full here in Munich,” Dieter Reiter, the mayor told ZDF television after 12,000 migrants arrived in the southern German city on Saturday alone – the most yet in a single day.
“From tonight, I can no longer ensure that refugees do not have to sleep at the station, or elsehere in the city under the open sky.”
Some 80 refugees were forced to sleep rough in the city station on Saturday, and authorities were stockpiling sleeping bags and camping mats.

The city is preparing to open an Olympic arena as a temporary shelter for refugees, and the German army will provide 1,000 places at a barracks in northern Bavaria.
There was no sign of a let up in the numbers heading north towards Germany. Austrian authorities said 6,700 arrived across the border with Hungary on Saturday, and they were expecting 6,000 to 8,000 more on Sunday.
Further south along the route, 4,330 refugees crossed into Hungary on Saturday, the most the country has seen in a single day.
Hungary's hardline prime minister Viktor Orban welcomed Berlin's decision as a "necessary" move to protect European values in the face of a record migrant influx.
Mr Orban said he was also convinced that "this is only the first step".
"We must also protect Europe's borders in Greece as soon as possible - with the cohesion of Europe, all of its member states and organisations," he added.
Britain announced it had appointed a minister to deal specifically with the 20,000 Syrian refugees that the country has agreed to resettle from camps bordering the war-torn country.
"The queen has been pleased to approve the appointment of Richard Harrington MP as a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State jointly at the Home Office, the Department for Communities and Local Government, and the Department for International Development," said a statement from the Downing Street office of David Cameron on Monday.
On Tuesday, a controversial new law is to come into effect in Hungary, under which refugees could be jailed for trying to cross its new 120-mile fence along its border with Serbia. Some are thought to be trying to make it through before the deadline.
