So are you denying that Syrians who enter Germany illegally apply for asylum?

you meant after that disater at cologne, now they just start to speed up? I thought the idea of "immediate deportation" is, you know, immediate. How long since they rushed in the open border?

nope, again, nothing racist there, no race involved.

Yeah, unfortunate the Germans are a bit too humane. Give them clothes and shelter, allow them to apply for asylum and then give them a free plane ticket home if they are denied.

Cologne attackers were of migrant origin - minister
    38 minutes ago

The German official responsible for investigating the attacks on women in Cologne on New Year's Eve says the suspects were "almost exclusively" those with a migration background, mainly North African and Arab.

Ralf Jaeger accused Cologne police of making "serious mistakes".

More than 500 criminal complaints have been filed - 40% alleging sexual assault - relating to 31 December.

The Pope said Europe's "humanistic spirit" risked being undermined.

The "immense influx" of migrants was causing problems, he said, but the continent had the means to strike a balance between protecting its citizens and helping migrants.

Mr Jaeger, the state interior minister of North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW), says that recent arrivals in Germany are among the suspects.

Nineteen individuals are currently under investigation in connection with the attacks, NRW's interior ministry says, none of them German nationals.

The 19 suspects include 14 men from Morocco and Algeria. Ten of the suspects are asylum seekers, nine of whom arrived in Germany after September 2015.

The other nine are possibly in Germany illegally, the interior ministry says.

The scale of the assaults on women in Cologne and other German cities has shocked Germany.

Mr Jaeger is himself under political pressure. On Friday he fired Cologne's police chief, Wolfgang Albers.

Addressing a committee of state MPs on Monday, Mr Jaeger criticised the police for not calling for reinforcements on the night, and also for the way they informed the public about the investigation in the days after the events.

His report details how a group of around 1,000 men of North African and Arabic origin gathered in the area around Cologne's cathedral and main station on the evening of 31 December.

From this large group, smaller groups of men formed, who then surrounded women and threatened and attacked them, he said.

These smaller groups were predominately made up of North African men who had travelled to Cologne from different cities.

Around 1.1 million asylum seekers arrived in Germany in 2015.

Chancellor Angela Merkel's immigration policy has come under criticism since the attacks.

Riot police used water cannon to disperse anti-migrant protesters in Cologne on Saturday.

On Sunday evening six Pakistanis and a Syrian man came under attack in the centre of the west German city.

The attacks on Sunday took place in the early evening. In the first, a group of around 20 people attacked six Pakistanis, two of whom had to be treated in hospital.

Separately, five people injured a Syrian man who did not need hospital treatment.

I think that EU immigration policy is rather sane under the present circumstances when EU countries really lack labor resources. I come from Africa and I'm quite happy in Germany now where I came with my wife and our kid two years ago. Ye, Muslims are being demonized in EU after those disgusting Paris attacks. But fortunately for us Europeans do make difference between African Muslims and Muslim immigrants from Middle East countries knee deep in outrageous terrorism. I mean African Muslim may well brave it moving to EU countries for safety and better life.

Muratui, why don't you go to the Introduction thread (very first thread at the very top) and introduce yourself.

It is a requirement and why to tell us about yourself and for members to welcome you.

The above list for Cologne from the interior minister is BS.

The police-released list current as of yesterday included up to 54 suspects (identified and known to police by name), at least 18 of whom were asylum seekers. 31 of these suspect were identified by the Federal Police, which released their nationalities; the remaining 23 suspects were identified by Cologne Police, with such data not released.

Nationalities are pretty eclectic among the 31:
    - 9 Algerians
    - 8 Moroccans
    - 5 Iranians
    - 4 Syrians
    - 2 Germans
    - 1 Iraqi
    - 1 Serbian
    - 1 US American

The nationalities of asylum seekers among these are undisclosed. The suspect list from the Federal Police does not include any suspects for sexual crimes; only three such cases were filed with Federal Police. The Federal Police is responsible for security within the train station, local police for the area around it.

Among the 23 identified by Cologne Police, there are apparently several asylum seekers and a considerable number of people illegally in Germany. One person - a Moroccan - has been arrested for fencing a cell phone stolen that night. The list by the interior minister (19, of whom 14 are Moroccan or Algerian, none German and of whom 10 are asylum seekers and a number of the other 9 illegally in Germany) probably reflects the number under investigation by local Cologne police as of a few days ago.

The nationality list isn't really a big surprise; according to statistics of local police, among nationalities in Cologne registered at one point as illegal immigrants (as all asylum seekers are), the highest quotas - in each case around 40% - of being arrested for another crime are among Algerians, Moroccans, Bosnians and Montenegrins; none of these have any chances at asylum in Germany btw. In case anyone wonders, for Syrians and Afghans the quota is 0.5%, for Iraqis 1.0%.

As of yesterday, Cologne police had 553 cases filed, of which "about 45%" had a sexual component; it should be noted in this regard that it is likely this will be dropped in many (most) cases due to courts having a somewhat different, more law-based opinion of what constitutes sexual assault (both in comparison to the victims and in comparison to the police).

Whaddya make of this one then ???

German Cop Breaks Ranks: We Are BANNED From Detaining Migrants

A growing body of evidence suggests German police are hobbled at every possibly opportunity by the Federal government from dealing with the criminal migrant problem, with one officer complaining they have even been banned from preventing suspects escaping custody.

In a brief interview with German mainstream-tabloid Bild, an anonymised member of the state-wide Federal police identified only as 22 year old ‘Bernd’ reveals the extraordinary nature of police work in modern Europe. Deployed to Passau, a small city in south-east Germany on the Austrian border where thousands of migrants come by train and road every month Bernd revealed “95 percent of refugees are single men”.

The officer told the paper the public do not get an accurate idea of what is really happening in the migrant crime wave, because events are mis-reported by police to prevent outrage.

He said: “should an asylum seeker cut another’s throat. In the report we would state it was grievous bodily harm rather than attempted murder. It looks better in the statistics”.
Bernd said in the past months, he had only once had cause to book a German citizen. The rest of his arrests and complaints were against migrants, who he said regularly “sexually harassed” women around the local railway station, the first stop in Germany after the railway crosses from Austria.

Most remarkable in the report of Bernd of conditions on the frontier were the crippling orders he was under duty to follow, even if they made his job near impossible: “If a refugee wants to escape our control, we can’t even detain him. This is dictated from above. To do so would be physical violence”.

The officer said Germany needed to clamp down and introduce tighter controls on migrants, as well as deploy more police officers. He said at present at the moment police officers lack the support of politicians, a sore point for the national police union which has been warning for years that significant cuts in manpower was leaving the force unable to protect the nation.

The worst is yet to come, warned Bernd who said eventually there would be a “big bang”, should the situation not change.

This lack of support for police, and then officers being used as scapegoats when situations turned bad is a major theme in German politics at the moment. Breitbart London reported last week on the Cologne chief of police being fired by the leftist home secretary of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia after the migrant rape crisis in the city on new year’s eve.

The interior minister said at a press conference called to announce the chief’s early retirement that his departure was necessary to restore public faith in police, yet he failed to mention that on new year’s eve he had personally turned down a request from police for reinforcements to patrol the city,

leaving just 143 officers on duty that night. Speakers at a PEGIDA march in the city this weekend called on the interior minister to resign for his part in the scandal.

Written by OLIVER LANE 12/1/16 for Breitbart

Angela Merkel said Monday night that Europe had lost control of the refugee crisis, as she confronts public anger over the New Year’s Eve sex attacks in Cologne.

“All of a sudden we are facing the challenge that refugees are coming to Europe and we are vulnerable, as we see, because we do not yet have the order, the control that we would like to have,” the chancellor told a meeting of business leaders.

Her comments came after authorities in Cologne confirmed for the first time that the attacks were “almost exclusively” carried out by men “of an immigrant background.”

Police have identified 19 suspects so far, including 10 who are in the country as registered asylum seekers. .???

There are growing fears of a backlash against immigrants after 11 people were badly beaten in apparent revenge attacks in Cologne. Monday night, rioting reportedly broke out among far-Right protesters in Leipzig, where a march by the city’s branch of the anti-Islam movement Pegida was taking place.

Merkel’s government has come under heavy criticism for her “open door” refugee policy since it emerged in a series of police leaks that asylum seekers were among those suspected of the sexual assaults.

The findings of a report by the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia released yesterday are likely to add to the pressure.

Seems the fuhrer's a bit pissed off

Don't really need to read anything except the bolded word in that.

Well, and as an actual answer:

Kinda proof the guy doesn't have even an on-the-grounds picture (as in, has never been there). There isn't "thousands of migrants coming every month" to Passau. There's thousands of migrants coming every day to Passau.

(also, well - that the refugees coming to Germany are overwhelmingly men isn't anything new. that was known and public a year ago when the current round started...)

And not just there, the neonazis are out in force throughout the country. They even managed to get a couple hundred for rallies in West Germany. The Leipzig case is special because they actually arrested them this time. Which, given certain sympathies among certain parties involved...

I know this is totally racist and inappropriate to ask, but I must.

Are these people mostly Christians? Buddhists? Hindus? Mormons? Taoists? Jews? Scientologists? Sikhs? Pagans? Republicans? Inquiring minds want to know.

I know Republicanism is not a religion, but they are major suspects due to their persistent War on Women.

No, its not racist and inappropriate to ask at all, they appear to be Muslim. Also, a large number, perhaps most of all gun violence in the developed world, which causes an order of magnitude more deaths in the West than Islamic terrorism, appears to be committed by American gun owners.

I think all controversial subjects like these should be discussed frankly without accusations of racism or bigotry.

The average Moroccan is about as Muslim as the average German is Christian. As in once per year, and that's mostly for the food connected to it.

(P.S.: Just to note in this connection, being Moroccan in Germany doesn't necessarily mean you're an asylum seeker. Much like Turks, Moroccans were brought in as cheap labour back in the 60s and nowadays form a sizable community within Germany. About 160,000-180,000 still with Moroccan nationality, although especially in comparison to Turks the naturalisation rates are pretty high)

That's very true. However, we are not allowed to publicly talk about the ethnicity of those "American gun owners" when we talk about shootings in America....unless they're white, of course. Then it's a "frank discussion about common sense gun control."
