  • OS2U Kingfisher Model



    This is a model I made of the first airplane to fly off the USS Iowa (BB-61). Technically it's a floatplane because it lands and takes off from the water. This model was catapult launched and is retrieved and hosted onboard the ship by crane.
    This was made from mild steel and powder coated in battleship gray.

    Looks great. Are you laser cutting the parts? How is it made?

      Thanks Gun Boat, I use a Plasma table, wish I had a Laser table but it's not in my budget. Craig

        She is a fair size then?

        Not to take away from your fantastic work but have you seen these things:



        I cannot fathom putting that much time and effort into a model as the fellow who builds the models in the above video. They're amazing to look at but if you
        check some of the other videos things like control surfaces, radiator flaps, gear and canopies actually function!
