I usually rail at the ever increasing all encompassing cloud of paperwork that accompanies everything my company does.
But this time round it was actually a good thing and caught a problem with my eyes.
I am going to Singapore for a few months and policy required a complete medical over and above my usual stuff each year.
My ophthalmologist noticed some latticing around my retina and referred me to a retinal specialist.
Turns out my retina does a good imitation of swiss cheese, full of holes all over the place and some fluid already leaking in.
Luckily they caught it before it destroyed field of vision or turned into full scale detachment.
So am off Tuesday to get the holes zapped with a laser.
First time company paperwork actually was a good thing.
