Mauritania turns DC-3 into surveillance aircraft

    What an amazing plane!

Maybe the RAF could take a hint and get some for the MRA slot?...

    A masterpiece is a masterpiece.

Long after the high performance fighters of the era had been put out to pasture, long after the glorious strategic bombers had been retired to museums to live out their lives as relics of a bygone era, long after the young upstarts built to replace her were themselves replaced, the DC-3 soldiers on.

She's the humble pickup truck that never quits. She'll do anything that's asked of her, and more.

DC-3 is coming up on 80th anniversary in commercial service.

Used to see this guy up in Greenville Me all the time. She flew down to Leominster Airport for an airshow one time, near my house. Amazing sight to see going into that small airport. Course they also managed to get a C-5a and C-130's, KC-135's and a Super-Connie as well in an airport that normally only caters to small civil aviation.
