Reportedly, Arseniy Yatsenyuk, one of the opposition leaders, agreed to take the prime-minister post. He doesn't insist on resignation of the president Yanukovich any more. But seems to me it's a bit too late, as Yanukovich left Ukraine for visiting Sochi. Russia suspended the 15 billion's credit for Ukraine as the prime-minister Azarov was resigned, and the same time the West promised a financial aid for Ukraine at 15 billion dollars for vital economic reforms. But western aid is a plan yet, while Russia has already transferred the first 3 billions to Ukraine. Besides, Yanukovich doesn't trust the West after harsh attempts to throw him out. So it's easy to presume Yanukovich goes to Sochi to discuss the personality of the future Ukrainian prime-minister. And in my opinion, that will not be someone from opposition, because the prime-minister becomes very important figure keeping in mind next Rada and presidential elections.

In the long run, however, this will be great for Ukrainian nationalism at the expense of Russian regional domination. There may be some twists and turns between there and here, but even so...if Yanukovych survives, he'll be tainted, and there'll be a bigger explosion later.

I don't think there's anything good about the rise in nationalism there. There's a lot of nasty fascistic, anti-semitic elements in there that are worrisome.

ANything? My dear fellow,de facto acceptance of vassalship to Moscow is unhealthy, I think you must admit, and nationalism was necessary to shake it off. Forced to align with either a transnational organization, or else an imperial one, the nationalists have made I think the obvious choice.

There's a joke, which illustrates: There's a trial, and a fat cat, sporting monocle and top hat, representing capitalism, takes the stand. "Fat cat! How do you plead?" "I'm relatively tame," he says, with the caged lion, tiger, and sabertooth tiger of socialism, feudalism, and communism growl menacingly from their cages.
