    Not even the 33% deduction of the gas price and the loan to Ukraine could put in shadow last week's Putin (Presidential) annual address to the Federal assembly. It is usually some sort of barometer on the current state of Russian affairs and where current Russian focus is. The speech was unusually short for Putin - only 70 minutes and seems the Assembly was satisfied since the speech was interfered with loud cheering and applause 34 times, compared to 12 last year.

    It's interesting that he spent only 10 minutes on international problems and issues.

      I believe he was sentenced for more then 5 years, which doesn't fit with the general pardon.

      It has to be part of another pardoning process, I guess.

      Putin is becoming soft, wonder how this will affect his image ;)

          They said on the news here that Khodorkovsky was gonna be pardoned too
