I agree with your first assertion. This is just par for the course. No one including the US is clean.

The second, I disagree. The UN has been useful as a forum as it has stopped the US from going into Syria. Thats was another disaster waiting to happen, but common sense prevailed.

Putin didn't use the UNSC to hammer Obama.

he didn't use it directly. It did hang around BOs neck though, squeezing his options..

Like hell it did. Obama was already flagging the Kosovo example as not having the need to goto the UN.

but no one really bought that excuse, not even the British Parliament. One has to adhere to a rules based global order.

                Really? Since when?

Yeah. Two posts down, somebody just posted a picture of your former British masters controlled London City. Same shit.

Come on OoE. There is no need for that. The british parliament did not agree to join the strike because of and amongst other things, the UN did not sanction the strike. This weighted heavily on many members of parliament who voted no. If the UN had sanction it, the Brits would have been in like Flynn.

Obama did not put forward a convincing argument.

There is every freaking need when you keep insist on being completely and utterly stupid and deliberately dumb to the hilt!

Hores puckey! The Brits didn't get into that war because it sucked!

Kosovo, Georgia, and Iraq were not UN approved ... and in case you have not noticed, Georgia was not an American War.

Could you elaborate as to why it sucked?

If it sucked, then why are the Americans so insistent?

What you are suggesting is that the americans aren't playing the geopolitical game quite well.

Getting a UN vote is political cover. Obama's reputation was built on consulting and multi-lateralism. All this has gone down the toilet, but I reckon he didn't want to get involved anyway, he was pushed.

Anyway, with a more broader representation on the UNHRC, I think we will see more cooperation and progress.

You got to be kidding me? Obama hardly consults his own Congress if to go to war, let alone UN.

Brits never went to Syria because they don't have a winning horse, not because their ally plays bad.

Not with congress, though he has tried, but with other counties.

Missile strikes was not meant to be a winning horse or a quagmire. The Brits didn't go in cause the parliament shut that option. The executive decision by Cameron and co was to go all in with BHO.
