If you don't know or understand -ask. Nothing wrong with that in my book. I have asked questions many times here - though not admittedly for a 'paper' - and feel no shame for admitting where I don't 'get it'. The label of "slacker" I feel is a bit harsh. Let him understand the views and reach his own conclusion - it is good that wishes to learn!

Nothing wrong with asking or not knowing something. He got the answer, now he asks for sources, a bit of research wont hurt him. As a matter of fact it will improve his knowledge.
