Agreed. We need more land and resources.

And immigration is the new "soft" conquest.

Though to be honest, the Chinese have us as No. 2 there as well.

I still think we have way more fun ways of making babies though .....

And from what I hear, till the late 80s, there was no TV as well.

And no Internet till the late 90s.

We don't need more land but more better ways of managing and governing. It would go a long way of harvesting the low hanging fruits of the development tree.

And while we are at it, maybe we could try convincing some sections of our society that having 8 babies per single spousal pair is not a really good idea.

Genetic mixing is needed. Variety is the spice of life.

Men and women from negative growth regions need to find partners from positive growth regions.

Would do wonders for biodiversity of the gene pool as well.

For example, 19 year old Bihari male with Estonian female.

You aren't going to get much more of either, so the smartest move is to learn to use what you have better. Efficient land use & modernization of agriculture & infrastructure is the key. The most valuable resources you have are people. That has been the great achievement of China over the past 30 years - it has created the social & economic infrastructure that has allowed its people to more fully realise their potential. That is the key to India's future.

Sadly not a trait limited to Chinese netizens. As I said on another thread, Janet Jackson covered my attitude nicely with her song 'What Have You Done For Me Lately'.

Which sections would that be? The ones with the high fertility rates?

Oh, man! China didn't get the Internet until the late 1990s?
Wow, that's like . . . um, . . . about the time the rest of the world noticed it.

                            Shocking, I say. Shocking.

I was talking about my country and how much time we had in the olden days to make love and procreate.
