        Under the keel perhaps?

Almost looks like CGI...hard to believe that's an actual ship on the high seas.

I'm guessing the big hatch in the center of the deckhouse (the square one) is for UNREP; there's a smaller orifice above the hatch for the SURF.

                • How does the crew see the surroundings from the bridge? It seems the ship is visually sealed off 360 degrees.

P/S: Ok, I sort of see some tiny windows at the front. Seems like 'blinkers' to me, especially with what seems to be a 'cap' overhead the windows. Awareness of the surroundings must be a bit of a challenge.

                    Metric crap-tons of cameras.

                    • Got to ask about the inverted bow. Why does a design that was dropped from use in warships 100 years ago make such a sudden comeback into fashion? I mean, if it really is a more efficient design than conventional bows (and hydro-dynamic modelling has been advanced enough for decades now to have provided a definitive yes/no answer) why suddenly re-adopt it? Why not earlier, indeed why drop it at all?

If you are emotionally invested in 'believing' something is true you have lost the ability to tell if it is true.

                        • My understanding is the bow on the Zumwalt is for a reduction of radar signature and not hydrodynamic performance.

The wave piercing design provides a more stable gunnery platform than a conventional bow as well as masking the ship's signature.

Below is a link to good high resolution picture. I do not see either the nozzles or the doors that might hide nozzles that would be needed for the water curtain.
