      • Zumwalt is back in the barn, apparently as scheduled. The article is a whole of nothing as far as details, but at least she wasn't towed back to port.

“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

                      • Three ships in class (current plan):

                        USS Zumwalt (DDG 1000)
                        PCU Michael Monsoor (DDG 1001)
PCU Lyndon B. Johnson (DDG 1002)

With USS Zumwalt named after Adm. Elmo R. Zumwalt Jr., why is the ship not named USS Elmo R. Zumwalt, or USS Elmo Zumwalt?

                        Seems odd.

                        Or maybe not...

The Nimitz class carrier names follow exactly the same pattern, FWIW...

The hulls are "PCU's" until they are commissioned, then they get their "USS" prefix; I was confused, too, when the LCS hulls were "PCU's" initially.
