According to the media 4 of the dead were friends going to fish (18-20 y/o), and the fifth victim was another fisherman, 45 y/o. He is killed 100m further then the group of 4. Police thinks he is killed because he was a witness.

Recently, there were 5 arrests in the near village. The roads are blocked and the media is not allowed further.

There are speculations that this is not inter-ethnical, but purely criminal act.

Why is this so big news, with so many unknowns is beyond my imagination.

Some Macedonian reports say that young men were lined up than executed and that the older man tried to flee when he heard the gun shoots, but he was gunned down too. Other say that the bodies were found near the car. Apparently shooting accrued at 20.00 yesterday, and the bodies were recovered at 22.30. Few incidents happened later today, when the albanian houses were stoned, and uncofirmed reports say that one bus was set on fire.

        Not good,not good at all...

I don't know what to think and I am afraid of my doubts. On the one side, you have the confirmed Albanian master plan for their national unification,it is well known and documented and we, at least here, know how they are operating and how they get their things done. The west doesn't buy this story for one reason or another.

As I said in the autopsy report, Macedonia is the next target for the Albanian expansion and sure enough, things are right on the projected course as we speak and all things work perfectly in their favour.

With US presidential elections, causing the tensions could bring under the spot light the “Albanian question” again. Macedonia is trying to get EU membership and has very limited space for manoeuvring. On the other side the EU financial troubles is increasing the numbers of desperate people, unemployed and feeling miserable and guess whom is there to provide sedatives in a form of nice dose of fresh narcotics to numb down the population. Also bankers need to inhale the magic powder in order relax between market speculations and orgies. Than add the security paranoia and geo strategic megalomania, the ballistic shield, corridors, bases and all that, when summarised, places Albanians on the top and ahead.

Maybe they saw the drug dealing and were eliminated as witnesses, the lake is at the road junction. Maybe the motif was pure criminal wrong doing, but that doesn't remove the national tensions that exist and the shadow of a war still looms heavy over Macedonia.

Here are some recent photos. And the EU fable: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U7849a_G7MQ

1 bus and 3 cars are damaged by the protestors. 1 of the cars was property of a local TV station. The camera guy is lightly injured.

Now how you got all this?

Police said 3 types of weapons were used. Forensics said nothing more till Tuesday.

The funerals of the victims were held today. God bless.

The B92 and our tv and news reels mostly. I've erased it, my post was potentially harmful.

Macedonian police minster, Gordana Jakulovska, came up with the new details on the press conference today. She said that evidences point out at the multiple suspects in the murders and that at least three suspects were involved in the execution style shooting. She also stated that these murders were organised while the targets were picked randomly. An red sedan was found, some 10 km form the murder site and the vehicle is linked with the suspects trough forensic analysis. Most noticeable evidence on that vehicle was that it had false licence plates.

Meanwhile, the ethnic tensions are brewing and smaller incidents are mounting but so far the police is able to contain them.

The Macedonian special police forces arrested more than 20 men, believed to be responsible for the attack.
In the press conference, Macedonian police minister Gordana Jankulovska, said that all whom were arrested belong to the radical Islamic group and that the motif of the slaying was to intimidated the local population.

The minister said that 800 members of the police took part in the arrests on random locations in Skopje and surrounding villages.

During the raids a significant amount of weapons and ammo was confiscated from the arrested persons which will be a subject for further forensic expertise.

Police believes and says to have evidence the killing was an act of terrorism, conducted by radical Islam groups (Wahhabis), pointing that they are a threat for Christians as well as for Muslims. IMV a good point to distinct that not all Muslims are behind this.

According to the Minister, some of the arrested have records for being in A-stan and Pakistan and are suspected to took fighting vs international coalition where we participate with soldiers.

So far the Police is not saying if they received any help and if so in what proportions from their colleagues abroad. More info on the raids is announced for tomorrow.

In my view the MoI not only solved the case pretty fast, but they won the PR war so far. They were placing enough info in the media to keep the people calm letting them know the case is still "hot" without relieving vital info to jeopardize the investigation.

The only minus was the visible presence of SF units during last 19 days. Last time we had them so visible (excluding the show for 20 years independence) was during 2001.
