I was thinking jato/rato to help get the bird in the air.

Don't think you can do it from standing still to airborne in the 240-250ft of deck space forward of the island.

Not to mention the deck damage from the rocket.

I noticed that the flames from the JATO rockets were reaching the tail fins and tail wings, making it a very dicey situation.

Can you make foldable C-130s? How about Mi-26s? IIRC, the Mi-26 has the same payload as a C-130.

After I would be done putting enough armor on them, I wouldn't actually call these planes "light".

i wouldn't be calling them planes either, after you done armoring they wont have enough power to taxi, not to mention taking off.
