On a more serious note the point of bill was intended to curtail cyber crime related activities such as child pornography for instance.
it is a far cry from a open attack on civil liberties and such so please lets not jump the gun on this.

The thing is every bad law starts with good intentions.
Can't remember a "wall" not falling.
No such thing as a good tax - Churchill
To make mistakes is human. To blame someone else for your mistake, is strategic.
When the governments have installed totalitarian system, only seldom such have been created out of nothing.. step by step they take the control and as their grip gets firmer, more arrogant and shameless they get. Unless you want to be that frog that dies when the water gets too hot, every step towards authoritarian rule and controlled society must be fiercely opposed.

i'm not willing to support free reign for criminals so that left wing loonies could fell good about themselves.
Gosh,I don't know if its the left or the right wing.
Cyber crime in this case may be significant but blocking the internet in any way is not the solution.Putting the freaks out of their misery,or at least in jail is.I have no problem with police developing capabilities to collect intel about suspects online. With or without my approval, the blue eyed boys do it anyway.I have however a big problem when somebody decides who can and who cannot do as they please on the internet.
If this sounds hysterical, maybe it is.Too many bastards came with ideas regarding the freedom of the internet not to be.
Those who know don't speak
He said to them, "But now if you have a purse, take it, and also a bag; and if you don't have a sword, sell your cloak and buy one. Luke 22:36
Seems to me that there's a thin line between 'freedom of expression' and all that, and crime/regulation. To be honest I trust NOTHING that comes froms the EU and it's accolites any longer so I am biased. Nobody was supposed to 'down talk' the Euro but the dam Frogs can down talk the £... I dread to think what censorship rules they will impose given free reign. Cyber crime is stealing and child porn etc... There are units all over Europe specificaly geared up to find and hunt these types down. What more do we need? This smacks of censorship.
