  • Buddhist beheaded in Thailand

Attackers believed to be Muslim separatists beheaded a Buddhist rubber plantation worker in Thailand's troubled south, police said Monday.

The head of Boonchan Saipeth, 59, was found in a cardboard box on a road in Yala province's Yaha district, said police Maj. Suthas Nookhong. His body, with bullet wounds, was found in a house about 80 meters (yards) away, he said.

A note found with the body linked the killing to sectarian violence that has wracked the Muslim-dominated southernmost provinces since January last year, claiming more than 860 lives.

The killing, which police said took place sometime early Monday morning, came as a delegation from the Organization of the Islamic Conference was touring the province. The group is probing the causes of violence in the area.

Well Prime Minister Thaksin's aggressive zero-tolerance policy towards Islamic extremists is absolutely right.

One suspects that this will continue for sometime to come, with the loss of innocent lives again

Another country braces itself to jihadi terrorism.

            Well, so it appears.

            Unfortunate, but true.

The radicals amongst the Moslems have brought upon themselves the scourge.

Now, even if they sneeze, it causes a bad cold worldwide!

Muslims have fallen into to the trap. The biggest threat they face is the reluctance of it come off age. They are not adjustable. They are very rigid with their views.

For eg the place from i come we have almost equal christians ,hindus and muslims. And i go for most of them or alteast watch all their festivites with my own eye.

What i have seen is that, christians came to kerala much after the muslims,as per my knowldge but if u look ta the most of the ceremonies of christians they adopt hindu ways in deaing with things.

              for eg.
They use"muthu koda"..a kind of umberlla which is used to lead processions of any lords.
They use "pancha vadyam".. a musical tiup of five instrumenst used widely in all temple festivals
They celebrate.."vidyarambham" the day when hindus give first education and make the children write "harisree..o ganapadhaya namah".Christians write exactly the same thing.
What alllt hese tings does s that it reduces the difference betweeen communites and more over helps on reducing the huge cultural difference.
What's the difference between people who pray in church and those who pray in casinos?
The ones in the casinos are serious.

The reason for that is muslim= Arab. No arab no muslim. Thats why mullahs preach that any devount mulim should follow how muslims in arabia lives & his style of living etc, but roman church wants to increase its penetration in asia & africa thats why their policy is of intregration & not insolation.

                    Thai official beheaded

                    June 29, 2005 15:40 IST

Suspected Muslim insurgents shot and beheaded a local official in southern Thailand on Wednesday in an attack believed to be part of ongoing sectarian violence in the area, police said.

Surin Somchit, an employee of the community water authority, was shot and wounded by four shots near his office in Narathiwat province's Rangae district, police Capt. Songphol Juimanee said.

The attackers, whose number was not yet known, then cut off their victim's head with a machete and dumped it by the roadside, he said.

The attackers were suspected of being Islamic insurgents, said Songphol.

The insurgents, seeking to separate the Muslim-dominated area from the rest of the country, at the beginning of last year launched a campaign of violence that has met with a sharp response from the authorities and claimed more than 880 lives in Thailand's three southernmost provinces.

The beheading was the sixth carried out this month and the second to take place in daylight hours.

The beheading victims, including the one Wednesday, have been Buddhists, and Thai officials believe the attacks are an attempt to terrorizes Buddhists in the south into leaving the area.
