I have nothing against rational thought as long as we don't delude ourselves that we are entirely rational beings.

    We are NOT Spock.

      We are NOT Spock.
Irrationality is equated to mass murder, genocide and death.

We may not be Spock but striving for Rationality is immensely better. A system that rewards rationality makes more sense than one which doesn't.

And how does Rational Liberalism have anything to do with deluding oneself that they are entirely rational beings?

Being logical and rational all the time may not be as swell as you think.

Logically, we shouldn't keep defective people alive. Logically, defective people shouldn't be able to breed.

Interestingly, the "progressives" at the turn of the 20th century were big proponents of eugenics.

Even today, the progressives have a problem with defective people. What happened to Sarah Palin when she decided to keep her baby with Down's Syndrome? The "progressives" jumped all over her.
