Sniper, thats true but at the same time, what was international politics before the UN? The same thing only less tendancy to negotiate first. I think the UN should be reformed so that despots are not recognized members, this will encourage democratic reform, and there should also be a basic understanding of who has power and who doesnt. I mean, what incentive is there for the US, the strongest nation in the world, to plead with a hundred weak nations for the right to invade/liberate Iraq? There is none. I dont know how a power structure could be created, but there has to be one or else strong nations will, with justification, keep ignoring the UN.

I personally do not believe that the United States should lay aside it's national goals and aspirations because it does not suit a bunch of socailists, communists, and dictators.

I have nor see any real use for the UN.

Were it not for the UN, the United States would have triumphed in Vietnam. So tied did the UN(and the world in general) keep our hands that the entire war was an exercise in futile stupidity. One that cost us 58,000 of our sons.

I have a long memory for such things.

Despots listen to force of arms, and nothing else. The UN can talk until it's blue in the face, but dictator's do not listen, nor will they ever.

        Sniper,

What is socialistic about Europe? Healthcare and Education?

We feel the West are blood sucking capitalists. Are they?

        Its all in the mind.

Of course we are blood sucking capitalists. I am not afraid to admit it.(In fact i am quite proud to be a capitalist).

Socailism is a mind set- a philosophy- and Europe as a whole is plagued with it.

Socialism in theory would be the best possible governement for the people of a country.

Capitalism in theory shouldn't last 5 minutes because of its inherent instability.

However neither THEORY take into account basic human lazines.

Socialism in reality doesn't work because people as a whole are not going to do any more than they absolutly have to because there is no incetive to.

Capitilism works due to the inherent greediness of all people. If there is an incentive for doing more work and it is worth the extra work most people will do it.

I prefer capitalism because what I earn is MINE and no one else's. I earned it, not that lazy bastard down the street with 6 kids who only works 6 months out of the year because he "has to", and then recieves a "welfare check" from the government. Here's my version of welfare reform "you want welfare check? Here you go one M-16 and one plane ticket to Iraq... your checks in the mail"

I disagree with that one. The last thing I want in theatre is a lazy bum who doesn't want to be there, endangering my people who are there to do the job.

It was a joke Col.... my main meaning was to put the guys getting welfare checks to work doing something they didn't want to do.

Ok half is an exaggeration, but of the three major European powers (U.K. France, Germany) two (U.K. and Germany) are controlled by socialists. It's hard not to count France, but they aren't openly socialist.
