  • Invasion Soundtrack?

Just saw an interesting thread on another board, so I'll start it here as well.
What song would you have blaring from your tank/vehicle as you were rolling into an enemy's capital? It was "Ride of the Valkyries" for the Air Cav unit in Apocalypse Now.
I'd choose Limp Bizkit's "Rollin'". It's in your face attitude and intensity would coreograph well with the death and destruction being dealt.

    Limp Bizkit
    Rollin'

    Alright, partner
    Keep on rollin' baby
You know what time it is

    Chocolate Starfish
    Gonna keep on rollin' baby

    Who's in, now who's out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Breathe in, now breathe out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

Now I know ya'll be lovin' this sh*t right here
    L. I. M. P. Bizkit is right here
People in the house put them hands in the air
'Cause if you don't care, then we don't care
    1.. 2.. 3.. times 2 to the 6
Jonesin' for your fix 'cause the Limp Bizkit mix
So where the f*ck you at?
    Punk shut the f*ck up
    And back the f*ck up
Before we f*ck this track up

    Who's in, now who's out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Breathe in, now breathe out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

You wanna mess with Limp Bizkit
You can't mess with Limp Bizkit
    Because we get it on
    Everyday and everynight
And this platinum thing right here
We're doing it all the time
So you better get some better beats
And, uh get some better rhymes
We got the game set so don't complain yet
Twenty-four seven, never beggin' for a raincheck
Old school soldiers passin' out the hot sh*t
That rocks sh*t and bounces the mosh pit

    Who's in, now who's out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Breathe in, now breathe out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

    Hey Ladies
    Hey Fellas
And the people that don't give a f*ck
    All the lovers
    All the haters
And all the people that call themselves playas
    Hot momma's
    Pimp daddy's
And the people rollin' up in caddies
    Hey rockers
    Hip-Hoppers
And everybody all around the world

    Who's in, now who's out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Breathe in, now breathe out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

    Who's in, now who's out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Breathe in, now breathe out
    Hands up, now hands down
    Back up, back up
Tell me what you gonna do now
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'
    Keep rollin' rollin' rollin' rollin'

I thought I was only one liked soundtracks

I roll down Route 75 with A3's Woke Up This Morning (the theme song to The Sopranos) bumping out of my subs...
Then switch to Neogotterdammerung from The Matrix Revolutions...
Then switch to James Horner's score from James Cameron's Aliens...
Then switch to....ah you get the idea
“He was the most prodigious personification of all human inferiorities. He was an utterly incapable, unadapted, irresponsible, psychopathic personality, full of empty, infantile fantasies, but cursed with the keen intuition of a rat or a guttersnipe. He represented the shadow, the inferior part of everybody’s personality, in an overwhelming degree, and this was another reason why they fell for him.”

I'm thinking that The Beasties Boys "No Sleep Till Brooklyn" would be a close second for me.

You know it's funny, there arent really any "song" songs that I like to listen as a "soundtrack". I guess I'm more into the score music...like Ride of The Valkyries

Speaking of that scene, did you catch who was flying Kilgore's Huey?

Been ages since I've seen it. Who was it?

No shame on this one, you have know exactly what you are listening for, since you don't really get a good shot of his face.
It's none other than Gunny R. Lee Ermey

Flight of the Valkyrie is the best for an infantry or armor assault.

              Definitely.

The pulp fiction theme song would be a good substitute though.

For a sniper team....the recorded sound of crickets. ;)

"Nice shot Romeo 1, getcha a case of beer for that one".

Do I even care? I only listen to Christian death metal (a.k.a. Norma Jean, Living Sacrifice, Soul Embraced, etc.). It's absolutely hilarious.

                        Voodoo Child - Jimi Hendrix

Kick you when you're down - Machine Head

Come and get it - AC/DC

Actually, pretty much anything by Machine head or acca dacca is cool.

For the more traditional stuff, I like Men of Haarlech. (the one off Zulu)

                          Here's some lyrics:

                          Artist: Norma Jean
Album: Bless The Martyr And Kiss The Child
Song: Memphis Will Be Laid To Waste

Walk around the room with a glaze in your stare.
                          In your tuxedo suit.
I will give it a name.
                          Lower your defenses.
                          Lower your casket.
Open the door and open your grave.
                          Murder.
Now you're doing the waltz with your murderer.
                          Mediocrity is the killer.
                          You find yourself helpless.
Christ is not a fashoin, fleeting away.
He laid emeralds in her eyes,
but I'd already tried a bracelt made of gold
and a scarlet thread around her wrist.
Everything was wrong so we sang sentimental songs.
"Oh how seldom we belong but how elegant our kiss."
                          We painted crooked lines
but danced in perfect time to a love so much refined,
we know not what it is until like a dullen wine we pour into a grief know before
                          but never quite like this.
All i know now is regret,
it follows like a silhouette along the cobbelstone behind us,
but has nothing to say except to innocently ask,
                          its voice delicate as glass,
"Do you see me when we pass?"
but i continue on my way.

Great song. Buy it on iTMS.

It was a tradition among a few German tankers during WWII to tune into the radio before an attack. Wagner's Ride of the Valkyries was always a favorite.
"The right man in the wrong place can make all the difference in the world. So wake up, Mr. Freeman. Wake up and smell the ashes." G-Man

I thought you would say something like Bomben Auf England...

Myself I would recommend some MEtal, namingly some Iron MAiden, and Saxon, maybe some Judas Priest
