China’s Richest Man to Join Party Leadership
Posted Monday, September 26th, 2011 at 2:36 am

Chinese state media say the nation’s wealthiest man is set to join the Central Committee of the Communist Party.

Newspapers including the Communist Party-affiliated Global Times reported the development Monday. They said Liang Wengen, chairman of the Hunan-based heavy machinery producer Sany Group, will be the first private-sector businessman to become a member of the powerful Central Committee.

Global Times said the Organization Department of the party’s Central Committee has completed its evaluation of Liang, whose fortune is estimated by Forbes magazine at $10 billion.

It said he could be be elected as a member or an alternate member of the Central Committee at the party’s 18th National Congress in autumn of 2012.

The Times Weekly newspaper quoted officials saying Liang could be appointed to roles in the Human provincial government or the government of the provincial capital of Changsha.

The Central Committee has about 300 members and is responsible for appointing the party’s Politburo.

somewhere in hell, the devil must be showing this type of news to Mao and laughing merrily.
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

He could be very good, even Warren Buffett good.

I've noticed communists and socialists make the best capitalists. They fatten their own wallet with other people's money in the name of "equality" and "group good" rather than to sell a superior product or service.

Then again if he's a true capitalist, he would make a lousy commie. He might actually try to benefit China as a whole rather than fatten his own bank account.

To be fair, I think this add would run well in the US as well amongst truck driving folks "battle proven truck!"

The face of a Chinese commie,

I am watching his interview with Charlie Rose right now.
Anyone who has time, it is a great interview.

                    Charlie Rose - Home

Gao obtained a bachelor of arts (1978) and a Master in Law (1981) from the University of International Business in Beijing and obtained a law degree in 1986 from Duke University's Law School and became the first Chinese citizen to pass the New York State Bar Exam.[1] For the next two years following graduation from Duke, Gao worked as an associate at the Wall Street law firm Mudge Rose Guthrie Alexander & Ferdon (Richard Nixon's former law firm).

He then returned to China in 1988. From 1992-1995 he served as the General Counsel and the Director of Public Offerings of China Securities Regulatory Commission (CSRC). Then, from 1997–1999, he served as Deputy Chief Executive at the HK-Macao Regional Office of the Bank of China. So Wrong on so many levels.

It is a college project, but folks in China should know better about the Fired Chicken reference in the US.

                          That is just too funny.

I think I understand the origin of black Americans and fried chicken. But what about watermelon? Why is that considered racist?

Personally, I think some people are too sensitive.

Who is better at gold digg'in than the People's Armed People? There is no competition, bar none!

Rich ore lode found by APF gold mine force

                            (Source: PLA Daily) 2011-09-29

The armed policemen of the No.1 Gold Mine Contingent of the Chinese People's Armed Police Force (APF) drilled out a rare rich ore lode of gold again at the Jinchang gold mine in northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province, with gold weighing 253 grams per ton of ore, that is, 80 times higher than the minimum industrial grade of 3 gram/ton. Following the discovery of the high-grade gold ore in October last year, this is another breakthrough discovery made by them.

Since its station in Jinchang in 1995, the contingent has successively discovered 26 gold ore deposits, and submitted a quantity of 70-odd tons of gold resources to the country.

Gold ATM vending unveiled in China
                              Mon Sep 26, 2011 4:44PM GMT
PressTV - Gold ATM vending unveiled in China
Gold ATM dispensing machines manufactured by a German company have been launched in the shopping district of the Chinese capital of Beijing.

The machine's limit is set for the maximum withdrawal of 1 million yuan, or about $157,000 worth of gold which provides gold bars and coins in exchange for cash or credit card.

Produced by TG-Gold-Super-Markt.De company, the new arrival machines are slated to be landed in the city's upscale clubs and private banks, CNN reported.

The machine, which first debuted in Europe in 2009 and in the US by late 2010, is capable to sell bars and coins in various sizes at regularly updated prices.

The cash-for-gold machines were first made available in Abu Dhabi´s Emirates Palace Hotel due to the region's high demand for gold.

Since the credit crisis, the value of gold has jumped up from $500 an ounce in 2007 to recently cresting near a record high of $1,900 per ounce in August.
