Spot on Tony!! Thats the exact reason why the 6.5 SPC was developed, as useless and uneeded as it was. 7.62x51 was already there and ready to go.
DPMS has a 16" barrel carbine model of the Knight AR(7.62x51) in . Its a killer set-up and the ammo is already to go.
I got to shoot an AR15 in 6.5 SPC a few weeks back and was very impressed, it had a 16" barrel and a match trigger, first 5 down range were in the nice grouping category :-) Chatting with the weapons owner and listening to his accounts of the game he's taken with it I was impressed, the only thing that didn't impress me was his muzzle break, I was deaf in my left ear for a couple of hours afterwards.
