Replaced the PC, got some new hardware - a not PC :)...Spent some time changing, correcting adding and illustrating, I think the story is finnished -- of course I'm probably wrong ;), but there are more battleship battles, Hitler gets gutshot (with a Luger of course) -- before he is nuked and bottled...
A note about the drawings: in designing these never were ships it helps me to understand the problems the designers faced - fitting everything in, and allowing for protection and arcs of fire, while maintaining balence and proper weight distribution. These are not proposals for a new ship the navy should build today or even yesterday, they are exploring what might have been or what could be.

I keep thinking: wow, what a nice fat target for subs/aircraft...
Same for any large warship though - carriers are more far vulnerable then something like this - and this beast is equipped to make the aircraft fight for their lives (~188 AA guns), she also has a 30' deep TDS. It wouldn't be alone either, there would be a big screen of destroyers and CAP from the carriers with her. The Yamato class would be very sorry to run into one of these. Of course this is a design exercise - I am not suggesting it should have been built, they made the best choices in real life (build more carriers), this is an ultimate BB idea, which would never have been built.

Yeah well... 1 obsolete Swordfish was enough to cripple the Bismarck...
And remember the Fritz X. 3 were enough for the Roma...
