        Is this an indigenous upgrade?
If not who been assisting them?
        Is this only a prototype?

They got help from the Russia and its FCS is based on the "Sniper" system. And, they are fielding it.

Regarding that T55 mod. The original chassis is obviously not designed for that turret and gun. Chances are that the suspension system needs to be upgraded to take the higher weight and recoil to fire on the move. If the vehicles are going to be upgraded from old T55 models, can the old chassis take the stress of firing a 125mm?

I wouldn't have thought that the turret ring would be big enough or robust enough to take a 125mm gun. The turret would also be too small and wouldn't be large enough to take the recoil.;)

i,m pretty sure they are aware of t 55 limitations, also pretty sure they figured a way how to make it work.

i'm surprised they're still using the old pith helmets.

Vietnam has license to produce automatic grenade launcher (AGS-17). Nobody says but I think it is not complicated to adapt production line to that single shot version. M79 was listed as one of the best weapon in Vietnam war. Vietnamese soldiers like it very much. Since Vietnam doesn't have advance rifles with grenade launchers, the M79 will stay with the VPA for a longer time.
Beside that, this time it seems Vietnam has found stock of Western weapon somewhere. M113 and Huey are back in service. Colt M4A1, MP5 and Uzi have been seen with special recon. force and special police.
