Set Your Controls For The Heart Of The Sun

      From A Saucerful Of Secrets-

And the title track to Obscured By Clouds-

You silly children just don't get it.

Lay off the slag and take the SERIOUS STUFF...

Songs, though, really don't get it. You lose context with the album. Important with those guys to stay on track and avoid snap-shots.

Voted for Wish You Were Here. It honors Barrett. That seems important.

            ECHOES

            Very nice.

The Pompeii stuff is really excellent IMV.

My favorite Floyd song is "Run Like Hell", but it wasn't listed, so I picked "Time"; you GOTTA listen to "Time" with a good set of Sennheiser headphones, and/or a serious set of Bose speakers, or it just ain't right.

I agree with S-2. Floyd is an album band. Individual songs out of the context of the album lose something.

This song got me a free night of booze in Korean bar once upon a time:)

So it has to rank up there as one of my favorites. It saved this Jarhead quite a bit of booze money. Money that I then used for other immoral purposes.

[edit] I see I've already told that story long ago. And Shek posted the "Song"

Its 1983, and we are worried about the recession , which we blame the Japanese for, and thermonuclear war. We wonder what happened to the "good old days".

The Final Cut doesn't have the psychedelic synthesizers and was the worst selling Floyd album. One of my favorites.

                    'Interstellar Overdrive'

I loved that one when I listened to Pink Floyd...

YouTube - Pink Floyd With Syd Barrett - Interstellar Overdrive-Part 1

Dunno if this is the live or studio version, (am listening to Tool's "Aenima"), anyhow, check it out... I lean towards the studio version whichever that was...

                      :claps:

                      And where are:
                      • Arnold Layne
                      • Bike
                      • See Emily Play
                      • Welcome to the Machine
                      • Two Suns in the Sunset
                      • The Final Cut

And there best by far: Shine On You Crazy Diamond!

Feck-it: obviously the poll is too complex and contrived! How about choosing the best Floyd album...?

                        Gunny,

Just a question about your signature. Are there retired marines who aren't opinionated? (just curious). ;)
