Steve
May he rest forever in peace and God's love.
And I realized I did not mention 2 who have gone before us...
LCDR J E Buchanan, USN Flew combat mission in WW II, Korea and Viet Nam
NAP and direct commission 1935-1963
My uncle and the man whose name I carry
1917 - 2005
F1C Paul G Buchanan, USNR 1944-1946
Entered service on his 17th birthday, spent his 18th birthday at battlestations (and later awarded a Bronze Star Medal for his actions that day) and was honorably discharged 3 weeks before his 19th birthday
1928 - 2000 RIP Dad
And for all of the men who died to make other men free of the 43rd New York Veteran Volunteer Infantry, 1861-1865
May he rest forever in peace and God's love.
