Military Balance in terms of numbers in personnel and equipment is not the sole indicator. Training and morale are also inputs. They are not tangible.

The environment is another factor, be it political, economic or security.

chinese military industries need pakistan much in the same way that american miliatry industries need the rest of NATO( to a much smaller extent) or the russians need india, i.e it provides them with an easy ready market for weapon systems and also brings in capital for future research.

Stuff that Pakistanis could actually use under the said nuclear umbrella? The nukes are a shield: sure you can pummel someone with a shield, but India has a bigger and heavier shield and is more likely to pummel you in the end. The Paks also require daggers, swords and javelins (i.e. systems they can actually use routinely in limited engagements) to continue their mischief from behind that shield. A Pakistan cowering, action-less behind that shield is of no use to PRChina.

The Irish and English hate each other's guts, though that blood feud arguably went back to before the Reformation.
                    1. I highly doubt he has seen any of the real and more famous Pakistani movies: PRChinese censors would go ballistic if they saw the blatantly celebratory theme of contemporary feudal life shown in the most successful Lollywood movies (suffice to say it is no Wuxia). I would suspect he has seen only Socialist-lite Indian movies (usually Raj Kapoor ones), as those alone were commonly approved in old PRChina and USSR. Or he has seen even more modern movies, where I will lay 10:1 odds that it is an Indian movie, not Pakistani that he has seen.

                    2. It indeed used to be one country, but now it is no longer so. India is still India, but Pakistan is India minus everything that used to be the best-of-China. If the Chinese ever wish to differentiate between India and Pakistan, they just have to look at all the best things they shared historically and culturally with India, now just subtract it from India, and lo behold you have Pakistan!

Very well said, sir! To think 110 years after Old Blood and Iron's death and ensuing chaos, we still have idiots presumptuous enough to think they can ensure their own security by getting entangled in others affairs... have they learnt so little from his country's fate?

I can see great enhancements in joint research products as both countries are really deeply engaged in developing their own AWACS and radar systems.

Number one Chinese weapon export country is not Pakistan (measure by both volume and cost), it is Bangladesh

haroon, welcome to WAB and to follow with your post, Pakistan did not take the Y-8 AWAC and took SAAB 2000 Off-the-Shelf instead. And from what I understand, Pakistan was not involved with the revise-engineering of Israeli Elta El/M-2032 multimode, pulse-Doppler radar installed of the Prototype 01 and 03 of FC-1 either.

Whichs project are you referring to?

I do understand that Pakistan is not part of upgradation of Israeli radars but I was referring to other big things these are joint production of AWACS plane and satelitte.

Joint Establishment of Sino Pak National Electronics Complex

BEIJING: Pakistan and China on Wednesday signed a framework agreement to jointly establish National Electronics Complex of Pakistan (NECOP). The total amount of the contract, which was signed by Pakistan Ambassador to China Masood Khan and President of CETC Yan Lijin, is estimated at around US $ 300 million, covering civilian, information technology and defense electronic domains in Pakistan.

Through the establishment of NECOP, CETC will help Pakistan achieve indigenous research and development and production capabilities after providing sophisticated training and technical assistance packages by fully utilizing local resources.

The signing of this framework agreement reflected good wishes for bilateral cooperation, strengthening the traditional friendship and also presenting a Science and Technology oriented government image for the newly elected government of Pakistan.

CETC is the largest state-owned Chinese enterprise, specializing in the field of defense electronics, information technology, public security, space, transportation, energy and education.
