  • Aerial gunnery target system AGTS-36

In the year 2000, Miltech Hellas signed a contract to manufacture Air-Towed Targets and supporting equipment for the AGTS-36 Aerial Gunnery Target System of Meggitt Defence Systems, Tustin, USA, for the Hellenic F-4 and F-16 A/C. The contract consisted of TDK-39 Arial Towered Targets, Visual Augmenters, Tow-Reel Cradle and Workstands and was succesfully completed within 2001.

The AGTS-36 suit is a complete system designed specifically for aircrew combat readiness training in air-to-air gunnery exercises. AGTS-36 consists of stat-of-the-art equipment to meet all modern fighter aerial gunnery training requirements. With +6g load capability, tow aircraft can be flown in racetrack, figure eight, butterfly and high-angle combat dart patterns.

This year, Miltech Hellas is pursuing a Follow-on Support contract for the maintenance and support of the complete AGTS-36 suit.

It doesn't look very big! I used to think the fabric sleeve targets were small enough.
