I think that kind of counts as high office. She was known as the "Democratic Queen"...
Didn't know First lady or"Acting First lady" was an office in the US Government. They are neither appointed or elected.

Also, wasn't she a Revenue ship first? Doesn't count.
Why not? you asked for commissioned warships. She was a commissioned warship in the US Navy . The USS Harriet Lane.
Bloomer doesn't count. That was a captured ship already named.
again so what? She was also a commissioned warship in the US Navy

I said I didn't word it correctly in my first answer.
But even after going by your new "correctly worded" question you discount ships that fit the criteria.

Wherever you got your info on the USS Fessenden from was very wrong.

    Here's an easy one:

Name the longest-serving commissioned ship of the US Navy.

USS Yankee, May 9th 1861. Fired upon by a gun battery at Gloucester point, near Yorktown?

    No sir.
This ship was fired on a bit earlier than the USS Yankee.

The SS Star of the West was fired upon on 9 January 1861 in Charleston Harbor while trying to resupply FT Sumter; however, it was not a man-0f-war. However, the U.S. Revenue Marine (USRM) steam cutter Harriet Lane opened fire on Confederate forces on 12 April 1861.

    You are correct sir.

U.S. steamer Star of the West, Captain McGowan, was fired on by Confederate troops from Morris Island and Fort Moultrie as she attempted to enter Charleston Harbor. Cadets from the Citadel took part in this action. The relief of Fort Sumter was not effected. These were the first Confederate shots fired at a vessel flying the United States flag. Star of the West returned to New York.
