    Correct!

I was also (somewhat) expecting someone to say the Sukhoi T-4 "Sotka", but a.) it never went Mach 3 (the Valkyrie did on several occasions), and b.) it didn't really have strategic range to begin with (ferry range is stated as 4,347 miles, but that's a one-way trip; the same mileage is the XB-70's COMBAT range, which would make it a round trip).

    Steve, you be up!

        • We have a winner!

The Goodyear Inflatoplane met all the design objectives the Army laid out, but the project was canceled when they "could not find a valid military use for an aircraft that could be brought down by a well-aimed bow and arrow."

                      Correct:
Soviet aviation pioneer Andrei Tupolev and the American aviation designer William Bushnell Stout (Ford Tri-Motor) both owed much to Hugo Junkers in the designs of their earlier aircraft, which benefited from Junkers' corrugated light metal construction technique.
