A model of the plane built by another company was the last aircraft to depart Bataan before the surrender to the Japanese.

Among its 5 passengers was Carlos P. Romulo (diplomat, politician, soldier, journalist and author), who recounted the flight in his 1942 best-selling book I Saw the Fall of the Philippines (Doubleday, Doran & Company, Inc., Garden City, New York 1943), for which he received the Pulitzer Prize for Correspondence.

This is a 230 foot medium endurance cutter off the coast of Greenland August 25, 1945.

Anyone know the meaning of the H on the tail?

The aircraft company that supplied the Coast Guard it's planes was founded by a man who was the first trans-Atlantic airplane passenger, and was convicted in Federal court of conspiracy and smuggling. And a man who created the first enclosed-cabin monoplane in the United States.

Schräge Musik derives from the contemporary German colloquialism for shaky, off-tune music; literally, it translates to slanted or oblique music.
