                Yes a Duck was the last plane out of Bataan, but Grumman did not build the Coast Guard version.

                This is a 230 foot medium endurance cutter off the coast of Greenland August 25, 1945.

                Anyone know the meaning of the H on the tail?

                • The aircraft company that supplied the Coast Guard it's planes was founded by a man who was the first trans-Atlantic airplane passenger, and was convicted in Federal court of conspiracy and smuggling. And a man who created the first enclosed-cabin monoplane in the United States.
