  • Politics of Star Wars vs Star Trek

An interesting thought sparked off from a previous discussion.

The Republic Senate in Star Wars, was a Democracy, that was dissolved into a Dictatorship.

The Democracy in Star Trek didn't really dissolve, but became more socialist? People no longer worked for money, but for the greater good. Karl Marx would have preferred Star Trek.

Star Trek economy was totally unrealistic and utopian. There is no way an economy could thrive on goodwill. Goodwill are in very much short supply.

You would be amazed at how many people have absolutely no life at all.
Removing a single turd from the cesspool doesn't make any difference.

The first one is great. I really like how he slammed the people screaming racist.

Then he went onto Star Trek.... I think some people are a tad over sensitive.

As a stupid example if someone loved my pasta and said you cook like an Italian should I be offended? I'm Canadian and therefore in my opinion am a little better than everyone not from Canada. (not really but just a little :P) If you where in a snowball fight or going snowboarding and I said you should have been Canadian it's a tongue in cheek tease to a friend and generally the response would be "what and be ugly too" or some such crap. All the examples especially the Klingon one have been sort of said to me and by me. I take them at face value and consider them a compliment.... Star Trek racist, good god it was one of the first shows on TV to have non whites as main characters!! Gene Rodenbery would be turning in his grave. Oh and Capt Kirk, he's not racist he'll even nail green chicks!
