  • Will Iran's cultural heritage be preserved?

What if, or should I say when Bush 'almighty' decides to attack Iran, will there any cultural heritage be saved or will he be pulling down all that lays down at the feet of our world civilization?? How do you make a cowboy realize that Iraq and Iran were the birthplace of Abraham?? How does he dare to act in the name of God (please, shut up!), while paradise was supposed to be in Iraq (only not visible for human eyes anymore), but still we all come from there....

What will happen to the treasures of Iran, will it face the same as Iraq? Who is going to stop this? I always wished to see the Iraqi and Iranian treasures with my own eyes, but who can assure me that we still can, and that our children will see it??? When Bush almighty is dropping his sophisticated bombs on it, all will be gone and the below shown will be disappeared for ever....
Do we realize the sophistication of the Iranian people? Do we respect their old tradition and their rich cultural background that has made them people of the heart, people of passion??? Do we still SEE people???

Just look at the pictures below and be silent.... This might be gone in about 10 years and who is going to defend it????

He will of course be turning the entire country into a glass parking lot, on which will be built casinos, oil derricks and MacDonalds franchises.

            eva,

were you going to see those iraqi cultural artifacts if saddam hussein was still in power?

and are you going to see those iranian cultural artifacts with the mullahs still in tehran? why don't you ask some of the persians living in america how much respect the mullahs had for iranian culture and history...
There is a cult of ignorance in the United States, and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge."- Isaac Asimov

Please, try looking at things with a little less Bias, A-Jad is no saint either.
I for one am sick of the Bush haters who can't debate in a civilized manor without resorting to name calling.

Maybe if A-jad starts co-operating with the UN/U.S. maybe we won't have to see a war.

If you want to complain about artifacts being distroyed how about the Budda statues in Afganistan under Taliban supervision?
Facts to a liberal is like Kryptonite to Superman.

No one really cares about Mullah, except some people living in Iran who dont know better ... much the same way no one really cares about GWB except some Americans who dont know better. But I can assure my dear, Persians rather live under the current regime rule then have Freedom propelled into nation through Operation Iranian Freedom ...

Are you very sure that the historical artifacts could not be seen during Saddam's time or that in Iran, the historical artifacts cannot be seen because of the regime that is current?

We must not mix facts with implied imagination or replace facts with politics.

I can assure you that people of older civilisations are quite attached to their historical antecedents!

As far a Mr Bush wanting to attack Iran is concerned, the wherewithal to do so (attack and not merely bomb) is not there. Therefore, the issue is merely speculative and hypothetical.

Most of the heritage was destroyed with 'almighty' Islamic invasion, just as in Iraq, Syria and Afghanistan. Infact a U.S. Invasion might free the country.

Food for thought? Iran was traditionally Zorastrian, not Islamic. Islam is foreign to Iran.

really, then maybe the world should form a coalition and overthrow and FREE u.s.a. because the natives were there first, and the descendent of the Brits-French-Spanish were aliens ... what kind of justification is that ...

there was no such thing as afghanisan when Islam came, that land known as Bacteria was integrated part of Sassanid empire, and the same goes for Iraq. I oppose the use of the term of Iraq and Afghanistan in that period of time. Back then those were proper Persian lands and not even satellite-kingdom under the shadow of the throne of Cteasphone. Iraq was divided into two parts, the lower part being called satrap of Babylonia and the upper being called the satrap of Assyria.

Funny old world, not much has changed the man you take your name from Xerxes became King of persia in 485, I guess he did not do such a bang up job seeing as he died in 465 on the orders of his own son Artaxerxes, who replaced him.
Plato compared Xerxes to Cambyses, as him he was a victim of his education
