    Praxus,

I won't contest you on your phliosophy.

However, have you ever visited a impoverished/ under developed/ developing country?

If not, you will not understand.

My country has a Prime Minister and a Finance Minster who are Harvard educated and on economics. The Planning Commission is headed with others from Harvard economics top guns and World bank chaps. They believe in Capitalism more than anyone else and yet they are not able to convert India!

The last govt went whole hog to make India capitalist oriented and they failed and they were defeated at the polls.

Saukat Aziz (Pakistan PM designate) is a World Bank hand or IMF and totally wedded to Capitalism. Yet, they tried an assination attempt.

    The situation is totally different.

I don't think Iran is very different from the subcontinent. Therefore, to expect a Captialist Republic would be pressing on the gas a too little hard!

Let me define what I mean by Capitalism...

Under Capitalism there is a complete seperation of state and economics. The only powers Government has is to protect us from the initiation of force(and fraud).

The World Bank is SOCIALIST, not Capitalist.

When the IMF give out loans their advice to the country they loaned to is always "Raise taxes!". Their advice to Argintine ruined their economy. They told them to create hyperinflation that would supposidly boost their economy. Guess what happened? The result of this was people got out of their investments and their economy went into a tailspin.

Havard probaly does not have a single professor that believes in Laissaiz Faire economics, they are riddled with liberals and socialists.

Socialism can not enrich a country because it makes economic calculations impossible. Ludwig Von Mises proved this over 60 years ago.

          Praxus,

I am not against your philosophy, nor is Socialism the panacea.

In my country because of economic disparity it is a huge problem.

The last govt (BJP [Or what folks say Hindu]} led coalition govt went whole hog towards Capitalism. It did not work out. The poor rural folks sank and there wre even suicides owing to high debts incurred in buying fertilisers and seed etc.

The BJP led govt was voted out. To me that is immaterial. What is important what is your advice for ensuring that everyone has a chance to earn a decent living. Why is the US subsidising its agriculture. That is socialism!

Our last govt went one step forward and wanted to better the US. Subsidies were marginal (compared to the US and Europe) and the farmers went bankrupt.

What is that we should do so that we are better off using the tools of capitalism?
