I liked the thread questoning whether high-tech weapons could make manuever obsolete. It got me to thinking though, is there anything that will make high-tech weapons obsolete?
The only possibility that comes to mind is electomagnetic pulse. I've only got the vaguest understanding of what it is, so bear with me if I'm way off base. My question is also sort of a contradiction in terms, since I guess that electromagnetic pulse weapons would be considered high tech, but I think you understand what I mean.
Is there anything out there, besides nukes, that once used fries or freezes everything else that is high-tech for a period of time? Radios, computer systems, smart bombs, FDC's, and even most vehicles, just useless? Will warfare ever return to line of sight with just small arms and light artillery?
