Friday June 2, the RCMP (royal canadian mounted police) and CSIS (Canadian Security Intelligence Service) moved in and arrested 17 suspects. They had been monitoring the group for sometime. They also found 3tons of Ammonium Nitrate, 3 times the amount used in the Oklahoma city bomb, and rigged cellphones which were to be used as a remote detonation device.
The Suspects, were nearly all Canadian Citizens, from various areas of Southern Ontario, and the GTA (greater toronto area). Including Mississisauga, Scarborough, and Kingston. One of the suspects, a 42 year old, was known for his extremists views at a local mosque in Mississauga.
Sunday, June 4. A mosque in Toronto was vadalized, sparking fear in the Muslim community of Hate crimes being committed against in them, in the wake of the arrests.
